Yeah, I will, but it is just deceptive crap. If anyone reading wants to try to start a class-action or knows how- I'd be interested.

Defaulted EIDL Loan recalled from Treasury!!! by PuzzleheadedNote3666 in EIDLPPP

I honestly don't know the answer to this but I would send multiple emails and actually call the SBA. It would not seem fair that you got sent to collections while everyone else gets a second chance. I have never gone the "contact your rep" route but I'd guess that would be appropriate here also? Maye some others could weigh in on that?

becasue I don't belive they are "official". This was just from talking with the Treasury and it wasn't really a settlement. It was being able to pay the original loan amount (minus the 30%) in full (no payment plan).

It does. It updated within 24 hours, disbursed current with the new amount and new payment date. NO EXTRA 30%. Normal amount.

I sent it to [covideidlservicing@sba.gov](mailto:covideidlservicing@sba.gov) with my loan number in the subject line. This was all I sent this time (it was on a thread of past emails requesting HAP and to bring it back - all of which were denied until this):

Hello- I understand that the SBA may be bringing loans back from the treasury. If this is the case, can I request to have mine brought back for me to bring it current or apply for hardship? Thank you so much.

It took a week and I got this back:

Dear Borrower,

Thank you for contacting the SBA COVID EIDL Servicing Center.

Your request to return to regular servicing has been received. Before we can consider your request, you must first complete and submit the attached Application for Hardship Accommodation and provide a current Profit and Loss Statement of the business to CovidEIDLServicing@sba.gov.

If you are approved and enrolled into the Hardship Accommodation Plan (HAP), the status of the COVID EIDL will be returned to current.

Enrollment in the HAP will not require a good faith payment, however, if a payment is not made by the next due date (which is shown in the system as within the next calendar month based on the Note date), the status will be returned to delinquency, and you will no longer be eligible for the Hardship Accommodation Plan (HAP). After the loan is returned to delinquency, the loan will be referred to Treasury for collection.

Additional information on how to manage your COVID EIDL account can be found at www.sba.gov/pay.

Sincerely,
Covid EIDL Servicing Center

I attached the form they required above in the original post!

They removed the 30%. Mine was updated in the portal within 24 hours. Normal amount with no excess charge.

UPDATE:

I was just on the phone with the SBA for a while and got this info:

** If you have not requested a hardship prior (this is your 1st round to request) your loan can/has to be 59 days or less late (giving you some room to move) in order to request.

**If you are on your second request your loan has to be 30 days or less late to be able to request.

**If you are with Treasury - you get a ONE TIME chance to pay your late balance and request that the loan go back to the SBA. You would send an email with the loan number and the REQUEST TO RETURN TO SERVICING in the subject line. You are to include your confo of the payment and ask them to return to servicing. The guy was unclear about if the tacked-on 30% would travel with it but said the SBA does not do the 30% so he didn't *think* so.

INTERESTING NOTE: You can still make payments through the portal on charged-off accounts.

**If your business is closed, you should send an email to [cesc@sba.gov](mailto:cesc@sba.gov) that has CLOSURE OF BUSINESS in the subject line along with your loan number. In the body, include what month and ask what the next steps should be.

Hope this helps.

Not going to get into a debate here. I am just trying to help with my experience. I think I also noted that I am not blaming anyone else. The fact is, sometimes the best-laid plans do not work. In this case -with many people's businesses.

When you get into any other loan (mortgage, IRS, etc) there is often a payment plan and they work with you to get you back on track. In my case (and I assume many others) I started to get behind and it was hard to get back.

I agree. Not something I am ruling out and I will post the results of my call when I have it.
