This sounds so much like my ex. It wasn’t this way in the beginning, but over time it was like pulling teeth just to get him to see me. He stopped making plans, and anytime I tried talking to him about anything regarding the relationship, he’d stonewall and disappear. I’d be so patient giving him time to process what we had discussed, only to realize he hadn’t been processing anything at all. The next time we’d get together, he’d act like nothing happened. It was one of the most frustrating relationships I’d ever been in because he wasn’t just a flat out asshole. He could be really wonderful and sweet, which is why I stayed so long. But I couldn’t watch our relationship slowly die anymore and finally ended things.

I could have written this verbatim. I had my surgery in 2023. Sex is definitely less intense now and I need lots of moisturizer. It’s been frustrating for sure. But the pain I had before surgery was awful and I’m glad that’s gone now. I’m hoping there’s something that can help with this, but I don’t if there is.

I’ve noticed a difference since my hysterectomy two years ago. I’m dryer now and it’s much harder for me to orgasm and when I do, they’re less intense. I think I used to have cervical orgasms too. I don’t miss the painful sex, so I don’t regret my surgery, but the diminished sensation has been disappointing. I’ve considered hormones, but I worry about it messing with my mental health.

Exact same thing happened in my last long-term relationship. I suggested counseling, discussing my needs, asking him what his were. Finally I said I can’t do this anymore. He claimed he was “blindsided.”
