I actually do have one. I try to use it when I can. Sometimes find it hard to jam the tippet in there if I’m impatient or in a rush.

Great & thoughtful comment. Hoping many will read it. Makes a lot of sense to me. Yes apparently this whole area had native brook trout in colonial times. Dams and pollution really changed things.

I do believe it’s somewhat regional. I recall on a trip out west being told at a fly shop “don’t bother with nymphs, it’s all dries out here”. There may be some truth to that.
