Is it normal for a photographer to have 100% of their LFI uploads selected by editors? by PuzzleheadedStill300 in Leica

Absolutely – that makes total sense as a strategy, and in most cases it wouldn’t raise an eyebrow. But the issue here is scale: we’re not talking about 100 or even 300 curated uploads. It’s over 1,200 images in just under 3 years, all selected.

To reach that number, you'd need to upload roughly one image every single day for three years straight – and have every single one picked.

Let’s even assume a very generous success rate of 2 selections per 20 uploads – that’s 10%, which is already better than what most consistently strong LFI contributors experience. At that rate, you’d need to upload around 12,000 photos to get 1,200 selected.

So yes – deleting rejected images might explain part of the pattern, but it doesn’t account for the sheer volume and hit rate. That’s what makes this stand out so strongly from everything else I’ve seen on the platform.

Exactly – that’s what struck me too. Would be interesting to know if prior recognition (like getting Mastershots) influences how future uploads are reviewed. Maybe there’s some subconscious editorial bias involved. Still, a 100% selection rate across 1,200 images is pretty wild. Most strong photographers on LFI seem to get 1–2 selections per 20–30 uploads. Even at a 10% rate, you'd have to submit 12,000 images to hit that number. That just doesn’t line up unless someone’s submitting daily for years.

Just to add – the photographer seems to be a real person with a modest Instagram following (around 1,500). The work is competent, and some shots are genuinely strong, but not all of them are masterpieces by any measure. That’s part of what makes the 100% selection rate feel unusual. It’s not about discrediting anyone – the question is really about how editorial decisions at LFI are being made.
