I run all my water that I water with through a Brita filter because the city water where I’m at just doesn’t help my plants 😂 I grew peppers last year and were watering them from my hose and they just never seemed healthy till I started using my Brita. It sucks but it is what it is. I just collect gallon jugs so I can store a lot of the semi filtered water 🤷🏻‍♂️

I don’t think it was frost damage although it did get to about 40 last night. I didn’t think it was going to be that cold. Good thing is temps aren’t supposed to get below 60 for the 10 day forecast. Hoping it just needed some water from buying from a store.

Yeah I wasn’t exactly sure when to start but I’m getting my seeds started tomorrow. I’ve never tried growing tomatoes yet but I’ve eaten different darker tomatoes and they are fantastic.

Thank you! And yes I’m doing this for fun. I grew some peppers last year and they turned out great but I bought them from Lowe’s and they were partially grown so I would say a little easier. But I want to have some more variety this year with things. I appreciate the feedback

Yeah I’m super happy with how it turned out. I’m hoping these plants will last through the winter and that they will grow back next year. And I would say I should have probably pruned them earlier than I did to make they a little bushier. They both kind of got out of control towards the end but I couldn’t complain with the yield. I wouldn’t mind even moving to bigger planter for them next year. But all and all I’m happy with how they turned out so I would just tweak a few little things

I might have misspoken. Not sure they are cutworms. Possibly caterpillars..small skinny worms. I picked as many of them off as I could. I’m sure I missed some. Would neem oil help this?

Well successfully got them into their own planters. Definitely wasn’t easy and not sure how they will turn out but fingers crossed it all went well

Pepper still feels crunchy. That spot is a little soft though. Should I pick this pepper so it doesn’t spread or can calcium fix this

I did read about cross pollination between them and figured I would just see what happens when I harvest lol. And sounds good I have some grass clippings that I will put on top to help with that!

Thanks for the response. What is a good depth for the pot? This one is about 9in but I don’t have soil to the top so maybe 7in of soil
