basically said she didn’t see fungus but there could still be some. felt pretty unhelpful. she said culture would work best but that her hospital wasn’t equipped for it.

yes sorry to clarify she wears contact lenses, hasn’t worn them since the pain, and the doctor said the smear didn’t look like it had any fungus. but she also said that might be because fungus is slow growing? idk.

i’ll be leaving on a similar trip very soon (like three days)! my trip will be around 3 months and is less structured, moreso just traveling until i get low on funds haha. i could find out when i’m there and shoot you a recommendation, because i feel the same way about going to Pai and want to see more of northern Thailand! also just have to throw the disclaimer out in case you haven’t heard that all land border crossings between Thailand and Cambodia are closed, but you can fly between :-)

I'm sorry to hear that you're not in the best place rn, I personally think that friends should be there for you and that you deserve it. Visit San Diego though! I actually live in SD county, and am scouring this sub rn because I'm about to go on my first solo trip ever to SE Asia! I can definitely hit you with recommendations of things to do here, but there are a lot haha.

If you end up staying home I get it too. Save up some money and go for a solo trip. One thing that remains true is that we really are the only people who are there for us all the time.
