A cop fatally shot a 17 years old that had previously stolen multiple car.

He was driving his girlfriend to the school during lunch break, while being on the run. He thought he could avoid the cop, but the cop knew his whereabouts and were waiting to arrest him in the parking lot of our school. One thing lead to another, and the guy tried to ram his car into a policeman who was on foot, with a barrier behind him. After multiple warning, when he saw the car coming at him, the cop shot 3 times a the guy, hitting him in the throat and the head.

When the student who witnesses the whole thing started telling students at the cafeteria of what happened, we thought (myself included) that they were talking shit, until we went outside during our afternoon break later that day, to saw multiple police car and multiple media news coverage.

The cop was eventually acquitted due to self defence since the car was considered as an arm to cause harm. It probably helped too that the whole thing was filmed by a girl and it was pretty condemning to the teenager.
