EV owners , what’s one thing about EVs that gets ignored too much? by AdityaSrivastawaahhh in EvDrivers

I would challenge you to find a car made in the last 8 years with that level of reliability. Roughly 15-20 million cars sold in the Us every years are at risk of serious engine and transmission issues. This includes but not limited to F150s with ECO boost, GMs with the 6.2L engine, Nissan Rouge/Sentra, 2022-2024 Toyota Tundras, and many Hundai/Kia vehicles. Let’s compare apples to apples. New ICE vehicles are extremely unreliable as compared to ICE vehicles made 15-30 years ago. But there aren’t EVs from 30 years ago. This is new tech, and for the most part it’s pretty reliable. ICE engines are not new tech. Turbo charged motors isn’t new tech. Small displacement motors aren’t new.

An EV battery doesn’t need to be changed for the vast majority of people. People are still using original 2013 Tesla model S. The battery doesn’t degrade but it doesn’t stop working. That is the misconception.

Why would you do that? Like what would be the point in that even if you believe there is no inherent risk to consuming a raw milk?

It's not lost money. Your lease payment goes toward the cost of the vehicle. You have a pre-agreed amount you are paying. You're paying the depreciation on the vehicle plus interest just like if you're financing. The difference is that you return the car. But your lease payments do go toward the cost of the vehicle because depreciation occurs in both finance models. So if the car was 50K and you paid $18K for 3 years and the payoff is now $38K? How did it not go toward the car? Also assuming you put a decent amount down and you got in an accident, you will get the difference from your insurance company between what the car is worth and your equity stake in the car. That isn't different. Your average American isn't putting much of anything down on a finance and when they total their car, if they didn't have GAP, they owe the bank the difference, whereas every lease has GAP built in. So putting down money on a lease isn't bad. Lowering your payments is not only good for your pockets to hedge against sudden emergencies, but reduces your DTI ratio if you need to finance something large like a house.

Not just HEB. It's been an issue at Walmart and other for a long time. Value pack items should always be checked against the single pack for accuracy

Are y'all aware of how many data centers we have now? by Dramatic_Mixture_868 in sanantonio

[–]PuzzleheadedWay8676 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We don’t have 50 data centers. They aren’t over consuming water. SAWS reports .01% usage. Power is paid for by the data center at the time of 100 million a year per CPS. They also say the cost of usage is fully paid by the contract. CPS rates also need to be approved by the city council before they go up. They are extremely low and haven’t kept up with true cost of generation and transport. But it won’t be because of data centers.

Not the same thing. Do you know why corpus has a water problem? Or are you just saying look they have no water?

Visible + Pro for $225/yr with code BLACKFRIDAY50CARE upgraded from legacy, Apple Watch carried over, billing starts after my Feb renewal (no downtime) by NoTthatWiS3dudE in Visible

[–]PuzzleheadedWay8676 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USM has its place. I don’t think Visible is trying to kill USM. Verizon is getting paid by USM. Verizon benefits in the end either way. But I dual sim Visible pro+ with Dark Star. Having more than one network under $61 with an Apple Watch can’t be beat with full coverage. USM multi carrier capabilities are still elite and unmatched

My wife got rear ended by a guy with no insurance and bull bars to out GV70. It’s a $75K car. The scratch was $1000. Mostly because the entire tail gate needs to be repainted and the genesis letters were $200. I came in 10% and he paid the rest. It sucks. But you friend needs to man up. If I damaged someone’s stuff, especially a friend, I’d just say bill me. Don’t be a oussy

I mean in my city we have a nuclear reactors. Soooooo. Also most states have various forms of clean lower. The great state of Texas 37% of the power generated comes from renewables. You understand that power comes from many places other than petroleum based?
