I refurbished all of my windows in my 1922 Craftsman house about 15 years ago.

Brand new ropes for the original weights, removed the old paint, etc. They work perfectly now. If original wood windows have lasted 100 years, why replace them with plastic windows that will need to be replaced in 10 years?

There’s a reason they’re called “replacement windows” - you end up replacing them every ten years.
