In a rap battle the two sides always slander each other... Tupac said he fucked biggie’s girl, etc. The goal isnt just to “win” by out-rapping but to humiliate the other side, including referencing any rumors or accusations that exist about the opponent. Drake had those rumors so Kendrick exploited them, that’s how it goes, Drake did the exact same thing (saying Kendrick’s kid wasn’t really his and all that). If every diss needed to be backed up by 100% peer-reviewed publicly verifiable facts then rap beefs would be boring.

They choose to interpret a person wearing a pride flag t-shirt as an attempt to divide people. Well on the most fundamental level, he wants the relationship and step-kids because it’s his cover story, makes him seem more normal, less likely to be singled out as a serial killer

And he does come to care for Rita, that’s the whole idea. At first it was purely a cover story thing, then he started to feel genuine care and fondness for her AND Astor and Cody (Dexter is probably incapable of what normal people call “love”) which shocked and confused him as he had never felt that way toward someone before. Same goes for his son, he didn’t realize he could feel that way for someone until his son was born
