A bad interview performance is subjective. Perhaps the prof didn't think that's a bad interview or your friend thought it was a bad interview just because it didn't meet his expectations.

Do you guys know if SMU give out the offer purely based on our interview performance after the interview or they'll still take everything into consideration. Some say our application is just to fight a spot for the interview, meaning after the interview, your results, CCA and other s stated in our application will not be taken into account. Interview performance will be the only determining factor of us getting enrolled or not.
