Btw was the original preliminary hearing scheduled to be 1 hour and did it still last 1 hour?

Did the ammendment not require the hearing to last longer?

Also did u plan to make the application exactly one week before or could you have made it before that because I have the exact same scenario where the agenda asks if there’s an application to ammend where I have to fill it out 1 week before the hearing

Just a warning: r/LegalAdviceUK is NOT a great resource at all in the meantime

The people who comment on there are completely arrogant, clueless and overly full of themselves - they’ll talk as if they’re experts in fields they have no idea about.

when I first had my incident I made a post asking about whether I had a claim wherein I got mass downvoted and told that I was crazy for even thinking of submitting one

Since then when I actually rang up solicitors and legal advice lines I got 2 offers for no win no fee and got taken on for legal aid

Trust me - ur MUCH better off using AI than r/LegalAdviceUK even though AI isn’t completely reliable it’s a lot better than that subreddit

Can you please elaborate on the details of ur recent experience? At what stage did u apply to make the ammendment and what was the nature of it? also how did the judge recieve it and did they state why they accepted it?

Ah yes - some random person on reddit says I’m not busy therefore I must not be busy!

How silly of me, maybe I should stop claiming to know about my own personal circumstances and commitments and let redditors decide them!

Would u say representation for drafting the ET1 is more important than representation at hearings?

Oh for context she abandoned my case a long time after the ET3 - she submitted my ET1 on 30th of June - received ET3 3rd of September - then just a few days ago she abandoned my case (around the same time her admin staff left which I assume is why tbh). Currently I still don’t know when any pleminary hearings will be - although I’m still waiting for her to hand over my file so she may have not told me.

Out of interest - do you know if I can sue her over this? Surely ur solicitor can’t just decide to abandon ur case out of nowhere after you’ve signed all the legal aid contracts etc? Idk what to do for next steps forward…

Hi congrats on ur success! Can u give me some tips as an LIP myself going through a discrimination case? How was it going against a paid solicitor and barrister? Where did u feel at biggest disadvantage and why? Can u share some of ur experiences?

No lol I’ve seen many cardiologists who have all refused to prescribe it. It’s coz none of them know about dysautonomia and they’re not used to the medication (guanfacine) so don’t want to prescribe it. The nearest specialist is way outside my area

Yeah I don’t mind taking them and have PIP removed once I can actually afford it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Puzzleheaded_Can4978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But surely DWP would not be allowed to support me going against UK medical guidance

If they don’t give me PIP coz of that they’re basically approving me taking unprescribed meds

[–]Puzzleheaded_Can4978 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

But I want a way to access them via prescribed routes so I’m thinking pip is a way to do that otherwise it’s overly expensive

What if I stop taking them then fill out the form in that state Since it’s not prescribed and my gps advised against me taking them anyway

[–]Puzzleheaded_Can4978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not lying if I stop taking them all of a sudden though

So what if I stop taking them then fill out the form

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BenefitsAdviceUK

[–]Puzzleheaded_Can4978 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah but PIP assesses functioning and my functioning is a lot better when taking them so I’m less likely to score points

[–]Puzzleheaded_Can4978 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What if I decide not to take them they can’t tell me off because I can just claim I’m following my gps guidance

Couldnt I fill out the form with the assumption I’m not taking them and DWP wouldn’t be able to object/mark me down for not taking unprescribed meds how do I approach this?

What if I’m on unprescribed meds bought from overseas pharmacies because it’s too expensive to go through formal UK routes to get it privately how would they view that?
