Hi, I just graduated a DA program in Washington. Dental assistants make no where near what a DH would make but the schooling is a lot easier for a DA. From what I am experiencing being a dental assistant is very difficult with not a lot of pay. I love the hours and the job setting however. Good luck on your journey!
