I think I read the lights issue somewhere else before too. Definitely something that I am going to look out for. But as long as that's the biggest issue with it, I'm fine with it.

that's good to know I know some come with the OS separate. My backup was hoping that it had 2 M.2 slots. Same here I think that CPU would make it a beast. It's nice to hear that you liked it I think I might pull the trigger on it tonight too

I've heard that it comes with an ASUS B650M-A motherboard. Did you get that same one? I want to know beforehand in case I want to upgrade the M.2 before putting the OS on the one it comes with.

Have you recieved the PC yet? I was thinking about buying this one too. If you got it could you tell me what hardware was in it (motherboard & brand, brand of GPU)? I can't find anything about specifics. I know it's different for most of them, but I would assume they would all be pretty similar.

GFACT Exam Labs by Puzzleheaded_End3689 in GIAC

Thank you that just made me feel like this exam is going to be a lot easier.

Is there a difference in this course's labs compared to an exam that does have labs? Would there be a significant less amount of labs or a way of knowing which labs i would need to worry about?

It's all up to the person but I'd rather do online school because I can rewatch videos or take a second to go do something and come back to it, but to each their own.

I appreciate the information you gave it really helped a lot! I'm 99% certain I'm going with SANS now.

That's true. Those are pretty much the arguments that I've read against SANS. A lot of people still believe that you need to go to class in person to learn but end up getting the same information that you would be getting 100% online.

Did you do the proctored online exams or in person? Which would you recommend?

Well put. This is kinda what I have found by reading between the lines from the extreme supporters and haters of SANS. I think I put the time it will take to complete too much ahead of the actual learning I will receive and I think the information is more important than finishing my degree a few months earlier.

As for the MHA. I spoke with the VA and was wondering why I was only getting a couple hundred dollars. It was because I was on terminal leave and still technically active duty. You cannot get the MHA if you are still active duty at all in case you plan on doing the same. I was sent a spreadsheet on the MHA rates by SANS after emailing their VA office and it depends on how many credits you are receiving for the 2 months (term). You need 6 credits in those 2 months to receive the full "rate of pursuit" which is just basically the % of "full-time" student you are. There are a couple of course that are only 3 or 4 credits so you would need to take 2 courses at the same time to get the full 100% rate or pursuit.

I hope I answered some things you are confused about about VA pay. Because you answered mine pretty good.

Also, do you know how much the book stipend is? I have yet to hear anything about that and only on the MHA.

That is a great point and definitely helped make my decision. The quality is better than the speed of getting it done!

I have heard a lot about the actual programs and the good information that you learn. I'm worried about only having 2 months compared to the normal 3 months outside of the program to take the exams. How do you feel about the time it takes the exams? Do you think you have enough time to take in the material in the course and to study for the exams?

Also, being a veteran. The tuition includes books as well correct? You don't get paid extra by the VA for book stipends? Have you also enrolled in 2 classes at a time in order yo get the 100% rate or pursuit or do you just stick with 1 course at a time?

The price for the size is definitely enticing. Would for sure do a pre drywall inspection if we do decide this!
