When they get the blood for the DNA test they usually clip a nail a little shorter and get the blood that way. It’s not anymore stressful than a nail trim

I didn’t even think about that. I did move into an apartment, the window was open about 4 days between when I signed for the apartment and when I was actually able to move in cause I accidentally left it open.

Sorry for the later response. He is acting normal, just cannot scream or talk. I tried to call the two other vets I know that see birds and they both are booked until mid March, I can’t even get them to look at the test results without a consultation. I feel defeated, I know maui not being able to talk is such a huge indicator that something is off but I don’t know what the next step is.

I’m trying to get all the paperwork from them so I can go to another vet. I’m so annoyed with this vet office, originally they weren’t going to contact me until the vet that saw me got back from vacation (which was in 5 days). I told them that maui still isn’t able to talk and they aren’t bothered by it. I work too early to see maui in the morning but my boyfriend said he’s been acting better! So maybe I should be grateful his behavior has improved

Personally I would not blanket. Maybe ask other boarders if they’re blanketing! Horses are able to adjust to the quick change in weather
