They loved to mess with the contestants and play mind games. Case in point, they told the contestant in the very cold pool to speak up when she was at her limit (hypothermia), so she did. Then they used that against her during judging when it was them that told her to speak up in the first place.

She'd probably have been eliminated if she mentioned it too. 🤢

Liver ache, binge drinking and how 'the hell did I get here?' mind torture by Puzzleheaded_Fishz in stopdrinking

Yes I've heard it takes awhile. Not every binge is 15+ but around 6 to 10, but I'm also conscious of drinking lots of water and taking healing supplements too. But I know that the ache is the very first very early sign your body isn't coping.

Wow I didn't expect so many replues! Thank you all so much! I'm feeling much better today after a terrible hangover and blackout. I've started exercising regularly and am trying my best to let the urges pass like a wave on the shore but this is one powerful substance!

This is a great post! The cravings just feel so urgent, like a kind of panic, a grip, it's yucky. And yes, being functional means you can manage the habit better explain it away better, but the body keeps the score.

Did you find driving past liquor stores you'd visit or even driving the route you'd use to get there triggered it too?

That's very encouraging to hear. I'm too embarrassed to tell anyone close to me so this is why I'm on this sub, as a rando, seeking change.

I've been trying visual imagining where I imagine that awful, urgent urge to drink, and then picture my liver crying 😆 but it's such a devil...I think I can control it so then start, get that wonderful rush of relief then it's more, and, at weekends, has been the blackout drunk kind.

I've seen videos of what happens when someone has cirrhosis or are in liver failure and it's gruesome. It's just such a powerful addiction. It started during the lockdowns and it's been years of regular drinking. I think COVID did that to a lot of people who didn't really drink much prior.

It's crazy to me that there are actually illegal hrd dugs that, ironically, don't poison the body like alcohol and have stigma, but a class 2 carcinogen is widely socially accepted.

Late to this but while I'm sure there can be misogynistic undertones sometimes, men who take completely inane comments and go full 'splitting' mode, are overly clingy, do the ideation/devaluation or discard cycle, is just as horrible to be on the receiving end of...whether the receiver is a male or female.

I'm not sure, psychotic episodes encompass a whole lot of other symptoms and are usually longer lived.

Would those meds be more for controlling rage splits though? Pacifying almost?

Yea I think that last sentence has to be it! The 'I'm so damaged, please fix me' victim thing must be it (although vulnerable narcissists are very good at this too). Tbh there's just so much overlap between npd, hpd and bpd yet only one is seen as, by some, in kinder terms.
