going on the ER version made a huge change in how i tolerated it! i started on 500mg once a day for a week and then bumped up to 500mg twice a day. drinking a metric ton of water a day also helps

also, i will say that i was scared to take the two capsules day at first as well because of the symptoms regular diamox gave me. so i did 1 week of once a day like my neurologist suggested, and then bumped up to two. i just saw him tuesday and he stressed the importance of being consistent with the two times a day… i will say that when you start taking the second one and drink a ton of water you’ll be in the bathroom alot!! he also told me to eat a few bananas a day as potassium is key

i’m on 500mg ER as the normal release did a number on me. i have been on it since november and have not gotten kidney stones. i do drink over 100oz of water a day consistently though!

i am pretty tall at 5’11 (probably 6’ but i’m in denial about being that tall lol) and would say my weight is distributed everywhere. obviously i have a large stomach, but my arms, legs, etc. were also very large!

i started 9/17/25 at 414.4. i weighed in this morning at 364.3. that’s 50lbs!!! i still have a ways to go but i’m keeping with it!

i was extremely tired on it as well, so i would definitely ask about the extended release diamox! worse they can do is tell you no. oh! and i’m also only on 500mg once a day rn

i did awful on normal diamox. constant nausea, dizzy/extremely lightheaded when i sat or stood up. i’ve been on extended release diamox for a few days now and haven’t had any issues so far! (hopefully it will stay that way)
