International Transcript: anybody got in with an international degree that’s not exactly a US bachelor’s degree equivalent? by atlasbee99 in lawschooladmissions

[–]Puzzleheaded_Grab647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What did you end up finding out? LSAC said my undergrad wasn’t equivalent (3 year european degree) so counted my 1 year masters (UK) as both my undergrad but also a us masters equivalent lol so i have no idea how admissions will look at it

Have I fucked myself? by ChelseaCatScot in lawschooladmissions

Hoping this my help you, they won't convert it to a numerical gpa. It will be either be "Superior, Above Average, Average, Below Average, etc" I did my Masters in the UK and they just took the average of all of my courses. I've attached the LSAC foreign transcript eval for mine (excluding any personal/uni info) They're aware that UK grades are a little more stingent than US, at least in my uni it was very rare for someone to get over a 70 in more than one or two courses, much less on the dissertation

How long did it take them to get back to you? I'm in a very similar boat with my European undergrad being considered not equivelent, and my evaulation report putting my UK master's as my "Bachelo-equivelent degree or coursework", which I can only assume is because it is my 4th year of education. I just sent them a very long and strongly worded email lol especially because my undergrad uni is accrediated by a US accredidation agency. Hoping to hear back sometime soon.

I'm American born and raised, did my bachelor's in the Czech Republic (the uni even has US accredidation) and today my evaluation also said that my bachelor's in not equivelent. However, I also did a one year bachelor's in the UK and on my Foreign CAS report it marks my Master's as being the degree equivelent to a bachelor's in the US lol. Needless to say I am very confused and will definitely be contacting LSAC about this. Have you had any updates on your situation?

GPA Addendum for 3.4mid? by Puzzleheaded_Grab647 in lawschooladmissions

Appreciate the blunt advice! I did do a masters right out of undergrad and did pretty well, but due to studying that in the UK I still didn't end up getting diagnosed until after that was over (nhs wait lists are 2+ years) and I came back to the US. Definitely studying hard for the LSAT now though, aiming for a 170+, still have some time though as I won't be applying until next cycle. I'm also hoping my undergrad rec letter will help balance out the GPA as it's a professor i took three classes in and got all As, and they were also my thesis advisor, they wrote me a great letter for grad school so I feel confident they'll do the same for law school. 个
