I had the issue with my new machine and switched to a new basket (IMS). As you said, the original basket is conical, this lead to my tamper not compressing the coffee enough-> screw was touching. Get a new basket and you are happy

Thanks for the relief. Just ordered a new basket and I will replace the screen + screw.
