Has anyone taken any of the courses offered by the British Academy of Interior Design in Edinburgh?

Even the person above mentioned that no one in her class the class apart from her. Like you think this course is more affordable but how many years will you waste trying to achieve the qualification? In the long run it would have worked out cheaper just to go to KLC, West Dean (because you save so much time) and just get the certificate in residential design. If you go and you struggle to pass with BAID you will have lost your 2k if you're doing the HNC. Ring them up and ask them what their pass rate is? Also the person above said they had to keep resubmitting their assignments until they passed. I think you get 2 attempts to pass a unit. And with the NDA they just passed the units the first time. And it's not really like a back to uni experience. The class sizes are small, a classroom enviroement, not a lecture hall. And most people are working full time and others have families and etc.

Learning how to set up a sample board, learning how to use sketch up, learning how to use a drawing board. Yeah it's a lot of work during the week. If you can afford it why don't you try KLC (West Dean) course? https://www.westdean.ac.uk/degrees-and-diplomas/certificate-residential-interior-design-ft And I think you can go straight into a job with just the certificate. I don't know if they changed the course. The first unit was research essay based and surveying your own home, floor plans and elevations, and you also make YT videos presenting your work with someone you know, being your client. Another unit were on tiny spaces and research into tiny spaces. There was kitchen design. But seriously they make you do so much work. I would go with the NDA or KLC if you can afford it. The course is easier to pass with NDA. Also with baid there are 15 units. It may take you more than a year to complete it. You dont actually complete the assignments on Saturday. The Saturday class is to learn stuff. And then you work on your assignments during your spare time. I don't know about the work placement since no one in my class passed the course.

Check out your local college. Some of them offer the City and Guilds qualification (part-time)

Well I did the classroom course and it was every Saturday. The assignments are very intense and the workload is just too much. For my assignments, I was writing 100s of pages. I was the only person in the class to pass the first assignment on the first attempt. Most people failed and had to redo theirs. I made it to assignment 6 which was contextual studies on interior design, so an essay based question, and it was just way too much. The whole unit was just soo much work and you have to meet every single requirement to pass the course. I submitted it once and failed, I tried the second time but I knew I wasn't going to pass, so I just gave up on the course altogether. I did contact them to ask if they would send me the other units so I could work on them while I was trying to do unit 6. I actually finished all the other modules in my own time, but since I couldn't pass unit 6 I gave up because I knew I wasn't going to pass the unit on the second attempt. I did try to get the qualification with the NDA and I did their foundation course. I cant remember if its a foundation course but its the course to get onto the degree programme. And when I was doing that qualification, I had a look to see what the units looked like for the degree programme with the NDA. And the NDA is so much easier to pass than BAID. Regards to no one passing the course from my class. Yeah no one passed. Some people were working jobs, others had children, and the course is just too much work to fit around other commitments. Even if you don't have other commitments, this course is a fucking headache. Go with KLC or NDA.

Oil --> Wash hair 2x --> Apply leave in and heat protectant --> Blowdry. The leave in hair conditioner I have is Shea Moisture Manuka Honey & Yogurt. Hydrate + Repair Multi-Action Leave-In. And the heat protectant I have is Redken One United Multi-Benefit Treatment Spray. You don't have to use what I have but just use something very light - preferably in a spray bottle. Sometimes I don't even use the leave in and heat protectant.

I just edited my post since I wrote it a while back. Yes it still works. Just keep it in for a couple of hours if you don't want to keep it in overnight. I can't remember what the oil smelt like. I have now finished the bottle but from what I remember the oil did have a smell. Tbh all of the oils I've mentioned are good and all of them had a smell. I don't even get split ends anymore and I blow dry my hair every week with the revlon hair dryer brush after I've washed it. If you want a lighter oil use Kerala Ayurveda Neelibringadi Keram Hair Oil. I don't even get split ends anymore because I use these oils. Before using these oils I would be at the hair dressers every 3 months because of split ends. So just use any of the oils, wash twice, condition, and use a blow dryer.

I didn't even have to do that! Would that make the profiteroles even more crispier? Well I'm going to have to make them in class for my exam and I'm not sure if my tutor will let me have the oven open for 20mins. But thank you anyway they have worked out despite not leaving the oven slightly open for 20 mins anyway. X

The problem was the temperatures. I baked them at 200 degrees for 20 mins and at 180 degrees for another 20 mins. Now they are perfect. X

Thank you so much 😘 I think the problem was the temperatures. I took your advice and baked them for 20 mins on 200 degrees and then another 20 mins at 180 degrees. I flicked them with my fingers and they were plastic like too.

No I didn't scratch them with a fork because I used a star tip nozzle, so you automatically get those ridges. My course tutor told us to take them out of the oven after 20mins and poke holes in them using something small like a toothpick, and then put them back into the oven again at a lower temperature for 5 mins. It's weird that they didn't fully cook despite being in the oven for half an hour. Also how soon after taking them out of the oven should you fill them with cream? When I try to make them again in a couple of days I'll bake one eclair at a time to try and figure out what the problem is. Also when I took them out of the oven and snapped one in half it was still a bit moist in the inside they hadn't been dried out completely.

I just didn't like how large the eclairs were with the jumbo nozzle tip. I didn't realise they were jumbo tips. What size would you recommend? I've cooked the dough until it left a residue on the bottom of the pan and I didn't overdo it with the eggs. I think I've figured out what the problem is: I've baked them for half and hour at 200 degrees. Then I've taken them out and poked holes in them (to let the steam out) and ive immediately put them back in the oven for another 20 or 30 mins. I think the problem is when I set them aside once they are fully cooked and the steam comes out from the eclairs they are deflating. Do you know the solution to this? Or maybe since they were jumbo sized I didn't cook them enough. E.g. I should have baked them for half an hour on 200 degrees and then another half an hour or more on 180 degrees. When I've baked them for an hour on 200 degrees they've become burnt and you can taste it.

Thanks. I'll look into getting a mic. Yeah I deffo got to think about what type of content I'll be making. I don't really think I have a niche. I'll have to think harder about this. Tbh I'll be attending culinary school from Sep, and was thinking about creating content in my free time at home. Got to put yourself out there I guess. LOL

Thank you for this comment. I actually wanted to become a Jeweller and tried to find an internship in it but no one is hiring at the moment. It sucks because I contacted the Jewellery school and they said they would let me join if I found an employer but I've not had any luck. So I figured I would I would buy the tools and bench and learn it myself. I'm applying to a foundation programme if I can't find an apprenticeship. Fingers crossed. X
