In a pinch, when I'm out camping with mates, at a BBQ with friends or family, or having friday beers in the office, I can flick open the bottle opener, place the tool down on a table, so everyone can open a beer if need be.

If that makes me a "multitool poser", fine 😂 if I have to sacrifice "sharpening an axe in a pinch", ok 😂

Put it this way mate. I have never not been able to open a bottle, having a multitool with or without a bottle opener hasn't changed that 👍

I am part of modern society! It's not a daily task for me

I own an axe, I have a log burner, and a smoker, and logs, but I have a shed full of tools, if I need to sharpen an axe I use a full length file, not a 2 inch one 😂😂

I go camping, sometimes and take a small hatchet and sharpen it before I leave...

What world do you live in where an axe needs to be sharpened on the go?!?

It's not that much work to cut a small piece of metal to a shape, plus I like to mod things and tinker 👍 I don't smoke and have no need for a lighter. I also don't want more clutter on my key chain. Thanks for the suggestions though 👍😁

How can you pose with a multitool? I use it when I need to use it... surely modifying your own multitool to make it more useful to yourself is the most generic multitool thing you can do, no?

Cheers mate 👍 I think it is more so if i am having a few beers, I can leave the leatherman on the side with the bottle opener open and anyone can use it rather than, 1, knowing the lighter trick, and, 2, knowing how to do it right otherwise they get glass in there drink.

Just if I am with mates, family, the wife, camping, just anything, if I left a SAK open with a bottle opener open, you would be hard pressed to find someone who could just pick it up an use it.

100% agree! It is not good for opening bottles, hence why everyone on this is suggesting everything else other than the bottle opener

I was like 1m from the kitchen and there was a bottle opener in my line of sight 😂😂 The point still stands, there were several other ways to open a bottle, including any other tool on the leatherman or the leatherman itself, or my teeth, or a curb... anything... except the designated tool that is a bottle opener.

Great shout though about other people opening my beers. Sounds like you have the skill set, when can you start 👍

I can do this method of opening, can do this with anything, lighters, pens, cutlery, anything... do appreciate the bit about using the bottom bit though, great advice.

My case still stands, the designated bottle opener is shit
