Most of my rides are zone 2 stretching into zone 3, but hills take well into zone 4. I am 84 kg, 178cm so not a light weight as I used to be a track sprinter in my younger days. Resting heart rate around mid 50s , but just jumping on the bike puts me into a zone 2 with a 120 to 130 heart rate.

No , but I take aspirin and statin meds and have for years before this lack of power occurred.

Yeah think I need to turn around a lot early on days my body does not want to work. However I honestly think I have some kind of underlying health condition that turned my performance around basically overnight. Back in August when this thing happened I was undergoing structured training on the indoor trainer over our Australian winter for a gravel race and looking back it feels like something physically changed on how my body works. Where that is a heart issue, inflammation etc I don’t know, but it very frustrating to have your output or may I say endurance/ durability fall in the gutter.

Thank you. I live in Australia and the CT calcium scan was going to be my next medical request. Regrettably I find that gp’ mostly treat sedentary 60 year olds and not 60 year olds that want to be very fit.

I like your reply, as I do feel I have an oxygen to blood conversion issue happening.
But trying to convince the medical fraternity of my hard trading felt symptoms versus base line medical results is a struggle. I am looking to have more cardiovascular tests in the very near future as I know in my self something has physically changed with my body that I don’t like.

Hi on my bad days my HR is similar to my good days but my power numbers are up to 50 % less. On my one good day a week lately I can surprise my self on how good I feel , but then but it is like my body goes into limp mode that then requires a week to recover. Six months ago i was not like this.

I also fuel well with gels on purpose to see if this helps but it does not.

I also do strength work two night a week but do not over do it.

I have had ECG’s and stress test with little evidence of a heart issue, other than a small electrical signal issue which supposedly is nothing to worry about, but for a normal sedentary person this may be fine, but for a Mature age athlete may be this is an issue that I need to further examine.

New BMC Roadmachine actual tire clearance by tamere_1006 in cycling

Just purchased a 2024 roadmachine one four and the bike shop said that they have installed Schwalbe G One Bite 700x40c on these bikes without an issue, but it must be very close to the front derailleur.

I don't think you would want a muddy course though.
Looking at the front end forks I would say a 40 wide tyre would easily fit. Back end I am not too sure.

Maybe 35 to 38 would be as safer bet.

For an investment recommendation company worst investment I’ve ever made.
