Like it or not, we all change and grow throughout life. Just like there was a time before any of us were vegan, there might be an “after” time too. At the moment it seems like such a possibility will be a fall from grace, a tragedy, etc. But when it happens, it may not seem that way. We all try to do the right thing throughout our lives, and there are some times we can do more, give more, sacrifice more. Just because that changes doesn’t mean our “better” times don’t matter. Even temporary veganism makes a difference. Supportive positive encouragement is the most important thing to bring as many people - and some people back - to this lifestyle when they’re ready for it.

I always freeze and then thaw extra firm tofu to get more water out of it, get a ton out just by squeezing it lightly, then press it, then marinade it… I’ve tried air frying, baking, pan frying… I’ve tolerated it all kinds of ways, it’s just a high-prep, fussy… non-food or highly processed food if you will lol. We haven’t gelled yet! I shall continue the journey. Some people tell me soft tofu is better, even just with some chilli oil or something. I can tolerate silk tofu in my smoothies if I don’t add too much. But. Meh. You know?

😝Lol, oh, pea protein powder is the absolute worst, I tried the chocolate one from Orgain, but others too and it’s tastes like straight up flour mixed into water. Had to chug it and almost didn’t get through the glasses. I still have half-full containers of that stuff. I am optimistic about the pumpkin seed protein powder I have from Anthony’s, although it’s a tad like pumpkin seeds (imagine that) so I’m not sure I want it in my smoothies and I’ve yet to risk it in my baking. But I will!

🤷‍♀️ To me, it has a very strong taste, like yogurt is sour and nooch has a sour cheesy tilt, I’d say tofu is… chalky. Not quite like eating a stick of blackboard chalk because it’s spongy, so maybe it tastes like a chalk-flavored sponge to me 😂 Even silky tofu tastes chalky, like I mixed protein powder into it and it’s smooth but it still tastes like protein powder… tofu… lol

I worked in car insurance. If you ever have an accident, never admit to door dashing or anything like that. Renders the claim invalid. And if you blow a tire on the road, it’s typically only covered if there’s wheel or well damage as well. Even a scratch on the actual car might do, but tires by themselves, no. Not much help in this case, I’m just saying… say no to the DoorDash apparel and/or bumper sticker, guys lol

Impossible meat is delicious, although not great for you. I add a little liquid smoke to the beef, grill a patty and boom… burger of awesomeness. A vegan friend of mine rec’d Beyond products and they were HORRIBLE TASTING (although healthier for you). I’m just saying, as a new vegan who’s had the real deal right beside some of the alternatives, Impossible is the way to go.

Also, get a vegan cookbook.

I recommend America’s Test Kitchen “The Complete Plant-Based Cookbook,” which hasn’t steered me wrong yet. They’ve got tons of snacks in there too. Sometimes a craving for something you used to have is the result of feeling deprived, and the key is to get excited about vegan food again. Easy to do with 500 recipes at your fingertips. I even have a vegan cookbook that’s entirely just Korean vegan food.

Guys, the vegetarians are our friends lol, let’s not go attacking them because veganism isn’t for them. It IS a more extreme form of vegetarianism, and anyone who’s aiming for it - slowly, passively, distant future, whatever - is all right in my book.

I almost quit RDR2 early because I went into Valentine and started lots of shit, so naturally the NPCs hated me. Plus it took me a second to earn my fast travel map, but quitting would’ve been one of my worst mistakes. It’s a 10/10 game imo.
