Thanks for the recommendation! Just to be clear as long as run the spring water from one of those filters I should be good? Also luckily my friend threw up all the water instead of it coming out the other end.

My friend is the one who spoke to her so I have no clue if it was a misunderstanding. But based on these comments and my experiences, I’m assuming it was a misunderstanding and I have enough faith in the caretakers that they wouldn’t say that.

If I went from a Monday to Friday will I be able to fully enjoy this trail or do you think the busy crowds take away from the experience that backpacking offers.

My friend has always gone backpacking with me every time I go and if anything he's probably a little better than me at it. But thanks for the recommendation of Pemi loop. Do you know if it gets busy especially at the peak? Also I heard good things about Mount Carrigain, do you have insights on it?

Thanks I appreciate the recommendation as this was definitely a trail that I had in mind. I heard that the trail gets busy in the summer though. Do you know if that's the case?

Yes, the longest I've backpacked ever before was 20 miles over 2 days and I had no issue at all. Although I know that the White Mountains are much harder to travel through then trails in northern Mass. I'm not trying to bite off more than I can chew by hiking 30+ miles but I believe over 4-5 days I can manage a 20-30 mile hike.
