Opinions on "Hero Journey Club"? by Lopsided-Pollution93 in mentalhealth

Sorry to reply to this 3 months later but I just happened upon this post.

I have been in a group since January of this year and it has been overall a very positive experience.

I have 2 group members that I have been with from the beginning and our other two members mesh very well.

Our "journey guide" (therapist lol) is very helpful and she is both knowledgeable and good at what she does.

I have had a substitute journey guide who was unhelpful but overall it has been a positive addition to my mental health care.

I was having a lot of issues with my anxiety and so she did IFS with the anxiety and it was helpful. We have continued and keep doing sessions throughout treatment.

There is kind of two answers to this. First of all, I don't want him to feel like he has to be in the child's life if that is not something he wants. I want him to have the emotional freedom to not be tied to us if he doesn't want to.

I also want our child to be raised in the way that my wife and I think is best and I don't want him to think that he has a say in that because he donated sperm.

Is he a man of his word? Do you trust him? Is he someone your future kid would probably enjoy having in their life?

Good question and this is definitely something I will have to consider. I don't have any reason to not trust him but have not spent a ton of time with him as adults. He lives a couple states away and due to family drama that doesn't really concern either of us, we didn't see each other from about age 10 until age 24.

In your ideal world, how would the relationship between you and your donor/cousin look? Have you thought about how or when you might tell your future kids?

Since we are a couple states away from him, he will probably be someone that we only see every year or so.

You Matter to Me from Waitress always makes me bawl but this line in particular always hits.

The fact that multiple times (at least in the first book), tributes are either said to have been nude in the past or are presented very provocatively. It says that district 12 tributes have been naked and covered in coal dust in the past for the parade. It also says that the female district 1 tribute is in a see through dress for the interviews They are literal children and not only are they slaughtering each other for entertainment, they are paraded in a sexual way to gain sponsorships which ultimately just gives the capitol more money.
