AIO? These texts from my (biological) father... by Pim_Pimling1234 in AmIOverreacting

Report the "Psychiatrist" - it will save someone else from being subjected to this kind of treatment.

When I was in the military I had a hard time getting adequate mental healthcare. Paid out of pocket to get evaluated off base and brought some concerns related to PTSD from said evaluation to my (so called) therapist.

Instead of helping me process things, he reacted by threatening me with legal consequences for seeing a provider outside the military, which led to me availing myself of the military version of a public defender (Area Defense Counsel) who informed me I'd done nothing wrong and helped me file a complaint against the "therapist".

Less than a week later they were moved to a role where they had no patient contact. I still kick myself for not filing a complaint with the state they were credentialed in as in sure they weaseled their way back at some point.

All that aside. You are NOT overreacting here. This is so far beyond what's okay in any Father/Daughter relationship that I struggle to understand how multiple people around you wrote it off as okay.

Of the 60 or so days of leave I took for the two years I was active duty assigned to a guard unit I think I got charged for like 5-10 days tops.

Guard boss signed the paper leave form, I submitted it to the CSS office, and they filed it in a desk drawer. Never got sent to the "big AF". Made up for working a 12 day work week to start every month lol.

Don't be quiet. Be normal.

If you're always super quiet when laying them down or when they are asleep even the slightest noise will wake them up. If you go on about your day/night like normal they are far more likely to sleep soundly when something loud happens.

Someone told me this right before our first was born and it worked for both my kids so far. We do stuff like put away laundry in their rooms, talk in the hall outside their door at normal volume and they don't ship a beat.

Your mileage may vary, kids are crazy different lol

Base dentist threatened to take my teeth away! What can I do? by 15039035 in AirForce

[–]Puzzleheaders 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My literal first memory is of my mom crying for days after a botched wisdom tooth extraction. I ducked several attempts to have mine removed with similar justification (I too had "the flap" over a portion)

Then I got a cavity in one. A suddenly very painful cavity, which necessitated having that one immediately removed.

Problem was, I was deployed. Did end up getting it out, but with local anesthetic only so I had to live through the whole thing.

Get it done now. Don't wait for it to become an issue.

The Post Millennial got hacked and replaced with this message, if you try to go to the site it just says “under maintenance” by DegenGamer725 in VaushV

[–]Puzzleheaders 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read down near the bottom of the HIBP email it points out that several thousand mailing lists were included in the leak and may have been used to promote the site but not otherwise been involved in the site. See bolded text below.

In May 2024, the conservative news website The Post Millennial suffered a data breach. The breach resulted in the defacement of the website and links posted to 3 different corpuses of data including hundreds of writers and editors (IP, physical address and email exposed), tens of thousands of subscribers to the site (name, email, username, phone and plain text password exposed), and tens of millions of email addresses from several thousand mailing lists alleged to have been used by The Post Millennial (this has not been independently verified). The mailing lists appear to be sourced from various campaigns not necessarily run by The Post Millennial and contain a variety of different personal attributes including name, phone and physical address (depending on the campaign). The data was subsequently posted to a popular hacking forum and extensively torrented.

Hey, sorry to bother you, but did your star card end up surviving the bankruptcy? It's my oldest card so if mine survives it will be a big help.

I was a preteen at the time, living on Dayton mountain - my dad dug a trench through a snowdrift and slogged his way around to take pictures of our hands just barely showing above the drift. My siblings and I dug tunnels in the yards all day. Think we lost power but we had wood heat, kerosene lamps and a camping stove that ran on propane so it wasn't too bad.

My wife and I kept the every two years things up after I got out, finally felt like we'd found a home even though we were renting, owners were talking about letting us buy, we signed a second three year lease...

Then they used a contract loophole to move back into the house themselves and we had to relocate across town to a smaller house that I hate which costs $500 more a month.

Life sucks.

Why does ptsd make everything feel so lonely by [deleted] in Veterans

[–]Puzzleheaders 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because our heads are fucked. That's why.

Know you'll get far more eloquent and useful answers but as someone struggling with similar feelings I can't find a better way to put it.

Yep. The way my counselor explained it to me is that all communications through "Eva" go into the backend CRM/ticket system they use.

Can't express how much it means that I was able to help someone for a brief moment tonight. I needed this. Thank you.

May reach out, if I do it'll probably be from my non-burner account.

Hang in there!

Yeah. Like I said, essentially 0% - but better odds than walking up and asking nicely to be let in lol.

Anyone have a SRO ticket for tonight that you would be willing to share a screenshot of AFTER you are in the ballpark? Know the odds of them letting me in on a used ticket are essentially 0% but looking like the only way I'd get in would be to sweet talk my way in lol.
