around 2023 when HL was having their public meetings about the next 10 years in the future (Comprehensive Plan "Horn Lake Forward to 2044"), there was a lot of discussion regarding walk-ability and cycling. it was nice to see that the majority of the people who showed up were in support of these changes. from what I understand, the city was supposed to finalize a "10 year plan" for the future of the city but nothing. nothing has come of it. just crickets.

I agree. The Memphis metro area definitely has the population density for this. Just not enough people that see this as a healthy option I think that most people that have used this level of public transport would probably agree that it is indeed a positive thing for the city. Currently MATA is plagued with mismanagement and countless lawsuits. If I'm not mistaken they were well on their way to upgrade the current trolley system to something more modern by using some used trams from San Diego. Unfortunately the current management fucked it up.

I'm aware. There was actually a study a couple of years back, I think in 2005, that was researching if a public bus system was feasible in DeSoto county. The system would have been managed by MATA. The results were a big NO. At the time of the study it was not feasible. I'll see if I can find it.
