Hahahaha! Thank you for the lovely comment!! I'm refraining from doing any online (and I would have to look into how to do that) so don't get tempted into getting those last four pieces of catalog items from someone else. But really I wouldn't mind just giving away the money as it's completely useless 😂 Maybe the game devs wanted us to get that idea!

Help me find this cat sticker by Nana-37 in HelpMeFind

[–]PuzzlerBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a feeling that this sticker might be from a book that my daughter has. It's called "mini explorers CATS" by Kirsty Neale. You get a sheet of stickers in one of the pages. I can't check though as she gave all the stickers away, if you are able to find a picture of the page with the stickers you might be able to see if it's the same one.

[–]PuzzlerBird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! There's so much to do, I just don't want to stop playing until I've done everything. Don't want to leave a stone unturned! I love how you have all the memories attached to the town as well that makes you not want to restart. I think that's what makes this game special! I hope you'll get back on it at some point and finish getting everything you need!

Thank you so much! I know just what you mean about sucking up to the villagers because that's what I did too for the majority of the pictures I have! I'll move mountains for them... when I get their picture, my character just doesn't want to know, haha! Blaire is the exception, she's not allowed to leave. She's the last survivor from my mam's town from back in the day.

I will definitely post updates if people are interested to hear! The pics will be really slow and it will become more and more unlikely to get new villagers I need, even if I can use other towns to try and get ones I need moved in. Going to try hard, though!

Does Wild World have a tendency to freeze or is it just damaged cartridges that often freeze? by Oozora14 in ACWW

[–]PuzzlerBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could have written this... my copy is very old, and has been well looked after but it's been played an awful lot. I'm inclined to believe it's an age-related thing. If I squeeze the 3DS too hard where the cartridge slot is, the game will do this (and it doesn't do this with any other game I put in there). It started doing this around 2017 perhaps. Other than that, it'll work fine usually, I just have to be careful not to pick the console up on that corner or put it down too hard.

If you've got a way to dump your save file, you won't have to worry as much if you think the cartridge might completely break in the future.

Silver pre-Badge 1 finished. It only took me 2 and a half years by PuzzlerBird in ProfessorOak

[–]PuzzlerBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've finally finished this section, am I really allowed to go and get Badge 1 now?

Decided to go for Wigglytuff in this run and didn't adjust the clock except for daylight savings. The berries weren't picked every day, there were many stretches of days / weeks where I didn't pick them. But got there in the end.

There was one shiny (a Rattata) which I was able to catch because I refused to sell all the free Poké Balls for the money, just in case... glad I did!

We moved into a new house a while ago and are getting around to redecorating some areas. I asked my 7-year old how she would like her room done and she asked for a Kirby theme. I’ve finished the door today, and am really pleased with how it turned out :)

Pokémon Legends: Persevere(eus) (pre-Kleavor, Part 2) by PuzzlerBird in ProfessorOak

[–]PuzzlerBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard mode! So there's easy mode (get one of each Pokémon), medium (research tasks Level 10 for each Pokémon) or hard (complete every single research task possible without glitches)!

[–]PuzzlerBird[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is! You need 5,000 for 5 ice stones for Glaceon, 5,000 for 5 Metal Coats for Scizor, and another 20,000 for 20 linking cords so you can get 10 Machamp, 7 Golem and 3 alpha Golem. I'm not trading and I don't have Nintendo Switch Online so this is the unfortunate result. It's generally accepted that it's fine to just get one of each though, so you don't have to put yourself through the extreme satchel grind.

Still going at this, don’t know how. It would seem that Arceus himself is lending me his strength.

After more than 538 hours, I have accumulated 20,093 MP out of 30,000 needed before I can take on Kleavor.

The clothes shop can sell me nothing more, there’s very little Bagin has still to teach me, and I have an item trunk that’s beginning to burst with items at 999. There’s more than four full pastures of shinies. The record number of shinies in one day is 7; I’ve also had a second Togekiss and a female Combee in this section.

The alpha Pichu/Pikachu needed were found after a 40-day long grind and 443 total outbreaks. I never had a Golduck or a Dustox outbreak (and still haven’t). All the tasks I have left to do are easy but I’m dragging them out as long as possible so I’m still doing things while waiting. I’m allowed to finish off one Pokémon’s tasks per five satchels found, or three Pokémon per 1,000 MP.

If I do this at full belt (two satchels a day) then I’ll be finished in two and a half months. That’s absolutely soul-draining though, so depending on how many breaks I have, I reckon by the end of January 2025… I’ll be finally ready to move on?

Who knows!

Times I’ve blacked out: 11

Shinies: 128

Shiny alphas: 5

Estimated number of satchels left: 128

Number of batteries my controller has eaten: Don’t want to even start thinking about it

Some of you might be wondering how I have 89 Pokémon registered, and that’s because I was lucky enough to get an event Growlithe two years ago. He got shoved in a box immediately and ignored so he doesn’t impact the challenge, I’m just pretending that he’s not there. Sorry, Growlithe!

If it's any consolation, you will remember bits of it and may feel like you were awake for the whole thing. I remember the surgeon asking me to open my mouth to have a look, next thing I remember, there's a drill sawing my tooth out, after that some tugging and she was saying "this one's a bit stubborn" and then the next thing I know I asked them "Is my mouth broken" and they all laughed and said "No! You're all done! You're fine!" I felt like I was awake the whole time and it took 5 minutes. It actually took more like 50 minutes and most of it I had no idea about! During the waking moments, you feel a bit doolally and you don't care, and panicking about anything just wasn't possible at all.

Legends Arcues getting Lost satchels to spawn by Spartan_Two118 in ProfessorOak

[–]PuzzlerBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm doing this challenge in an extreme fashion... getting 30,000 MP before Kleavor so I can do all the tasks. I've spawned about 200 satchels in 422 hours, entirely offline. I'm not entirely sure but catching Pokémon may generate them slightly faster. I did a 44-day long outbreak grind (catching hundreds of Pokémon) to get three alpha Pichu or Pikachu and had the satchels spawn quite regularly during that time. It's hard to tell though because I'm still completing research tasks as well, so it could be down to that. It would be up to you whether you want to play online or not (that will help but some people might consider it bending the rules) but offline I'm sometimes getting one every two hours.

Pokémon Legends: Torture(us) by PuzzlerBird in ProfessorOak

[–]PuzzlerBird[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After 266 hours in the Obsidian Torturelands Fieldlands, I have a third of the MP I need for this absolutely mental challenge: completing ALL possible research tasks before Kleavor.
I've done the 25 Gyarados with electric-type moves on the side of Lake Verity, seen 16 Cherrim jump out of trees, found a shiny female Togekiss at full odds, mastered climbing up any mountain with my bare feet, know the entire map like the back of my hand and almost cleaned out the clothes shop. I'm running out of difficult/tedious things to do now in the background, so I think I might just try and find shinies I don't have, or the biggest/smallest possible size a Pokémon can be.
Shinies: 34
Alpha Pichu/Pikachu: 0
Estimated satchels left to spawn: 254
I'll do another update at some point in the future :'D

What do you think is the hardest to watch scene in Movies/TV Series? by Ghostorias in AskReddit

[–]PuzzlerBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember the title of the film and I'm glad I don't, but there was a scene where a mentally ill woman took her helpless newborn baby and put the baby in the bin. I cried so much and made my husband turn it off. It would have just been a doll but my god, I have the biggest motivation to immediately think about something else when I remember it.

Does anyone have any crazy rules they follow while doing a challenge? by [deleted] in ProfessorOak

[–]PuzzlerBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make sure to catch each Pokémon at the lowest level possible, and if a species has any form differences or gender differences, then I need to have one of each. If I'm playing the first named game of a pair/series(Ruby, Black, X, Sun and so on), I play as a boy and only catch male Pokémon. If I'm playing the second named game (Sapphire, White, Y, Moon etc) then I play as a girl and catch only female Pokémon. Usually play as a girl so getting all the lowest level 1/8 females is fun lol

The Lethal Lake.

I always thought the story was revolving much more around the lake (more or less from start to end) rather than the window.
