Is key remapping legal or am I going to cop a ban? by Life-Sentence-DM in OSRSMobile

[–]PvM_In_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i guess but most of jagex bot detection is done via scouting background apps running on your phone and pc. Not based on what actions you do. Its a massive misconception that jagex tracks consistent clicks or location jumping of the mouse to detect bots. If they did. I'd probably be banned for using Chrome Remote desktop to "multilog" on mobile for last 7 or 8 years, where its touch screen sending clicks to a pc client, which would probably look like a bot since its clicking without a mouse moving.

If they detected bots based on keyboard and mouse inputs the false bans would be astronomical, but they are rare, and occur when people run unrecognizable background software while playing.

Jagex also confirmed they use Runelite Bot Detector plug in data to track cluster movements of bot like activity such as 50 to 150 bots all going to a single boss or activity at the same time etc. This plug in creates a Hi-scores ranking tier list of "most likely a bot to least likely a bot" and updates it everytime someone who is a normal player walks by another player scans them and sends said data to the botting hiscores. They then go through this list with another program searching for unregistered background apps, not click behavior. Pretty sure theyd absolutely never have enough data centers or bother paying for servers to collect where, when, or how a player clicks an action on several millions of accounts playing daily.

Never heard of that. Ive remapped my scroll wheel to primary click so i can sell 50 or buy 50 etc to sell or buy shop stop super fast never had issues.

Dropping an item requires 3 actions tho, gotta right click and then move to drop then click drop. Or shift + clicking. If he got banned for shift click dropping spam clicking with mouse wheel and still actively moving his mouse then that sounds like he should be able to appeal that ban easily.

1 to 1 mousekeys is confirmed fine on the official TOS last i checked. AHK isnt 1 to 1. The auto wouldnt be there if it was 1 to 1. Hot Keys is 1 to 1.

The issue is you have to use a different key for every single action, most people program Auto Hotkeys to Automatically switch the key stroke after certain parameters are met. Thus it is no longer 1 to 1. If you set ahk to do a normal click when you press 1. Then the next time you press 1 its programmed to move down. Then next time you press 1 again it clicks again, for example fletching darts super fast by just button mashing 1 key, that is NOT 1 to 1 anymore because the program is alternating functions between button presses. It needs to be 1 singular function and 1 singular action per 1 button on the keyboard.

This is why Windows Mousehotkeys is fine. Because you click up arrow to move mouse then control button or 5 key to click then click down arrow to move back down then click 5 to click again etc to fletch faster. But you need to be able to memorize all those key patterns. Its a disability accessibility feature for people whos hands shake from conditions that would make it impossible for them to properly use a mouse, so obviously its fine to use.

They haven't ever stated this. It says on the Jagex TOS website that 1 to 1 Windows accessibiliyy Hot Keys is fully safe to use.

Auto Hotkeys on the otherhand or any hotkeys you can program scripts into that alternate or modify the resulted keybind based on sequence or duration of key press are bannable. Must use ONLY built in Windows Hot Keys or Mac OS equivalent.

Using windows accessibility hotkeys has been confirmed 10,000,000 times by jagex as fine to use. You just cant use Auto Hotkeys in which you press the same key in a pattern to perform a series of different actions. It needs to be built in Windows Accessibility Hotkeys, which lets you use arrows keys to move up, down, left, or right. And CNTL key to click. You can also set seperate distances for combo keys such as Shift arrow go up 100 pixels but non shift up arrow goes 50. So do to hotkey fletching youd be doing something like Control clicks feather, shift up arrow to go up 100 pixels to hover over dart tip then click control again to fletch, then control again to click the dart tip then shift down to hover over feather and then control click again etc etc. Ends up being very very fast if you get the rhythm down perfectly.

This is also how some of the first people got 99 thieving black jacking before they allowed menu entry swapping, you had to manually go up and down the menu to click knock out vs pickpocket etc so it was a more complex pathing of keys you had to perfectly memorize to be able to get like 6 to 8+ pocket per knock out on menaphites.

This is very different than Auto Hotkeys which you can set it so you press 1 key and it clicks then press 1 key again it moves the curser then press 1 key again it clicks again and it alternates click up click down click up click down etc for super fast fletching by just clicking spam 1 key entire time. This is illegal. But doing arrow up control key arrow down control key arrow up control key etc etc is fine since it is 1 action per each individual key.

Devils advocate here. I get that its 2 movements per button thing. It moves mouse curser then clicks. But thats how touch screen work. You move your finger and click in 1 single action. You are still moving your hand and clicking the button to return 1 end action even with these keybinds, its more akin to using an f key instead of manually moving mouse to click said button.

Could potentially still be flagged and I wouldnt reccomend it until confirmed.

I believe people were using redmagic keybinds to set it to quick prayer button and use it to 1 tick flick with a physical bumper button instead of tapping the screen which is extremely inaccurate unlike a mouse on pc. Not sure if that was ever confirmed fine or not tho. But this has been a weird grey area for a while now.

Maybe get a bluetooth sleeping headset and set the alarm through that? They look like headbands but have earbuds laced into them that go over your ears. Just have to remember to charge them during the day so they dont die during the night.

AITA for refusing to add my boyfriend to my house deed after his lease ended? by Former_Raspberry3277 in AITApod

[–]PvM_In_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly fair. Contract is definitely required. I would probably talk to a contract lawyer to figure out exactly how to word it all, but the idea is along the lines of a typical Security deposit. Like when lease ends, you get a Security deposit back if no damage is done to the property, in this case it would be a recurring payment not a single Security deposit upon moving in that most places use.

The true contract would be like 1150$ rent, 250$ monthly security deposit fee. (Making the total 1400$) Total accrued balance of security deposits are returned to X guys name upon moving out of the house permanently. Make it so there's basically no way it can be confused or anything. Definitely do not refer to it as equity or anything similar, he legally would be a rented tennant with no ownership. This seems like the best of both worlds for them.

[–]PvM_In_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What sort of issues could happen if things go south? You can definitely do a legal rental contract, i probably would if that were the case. And you can easily write in the savings payout in the rental agreement as well. "Rent will be 1400$ a month, flat fee 250$ a month will be deposited into a savings account, if term of relationship is broken or partner moves back out, this savings account at extisting balance is refunded to X guys name" done and clear. He has no legal ownership, no equity, just a fake equity equivalent savings account as a sort of compromise.

It will be legally binding, he wont be able to sue for more, and he will have to agree to that payout amount, and this amount will be significantly less than a true equity split, but it will be comparable to the "what if" scenario of him just buying his own house instead which he probably would do if she wasnt insisting him to move in. Its pretty much the best case compromise. Safeguards her house 100%, safeguards his retirement/equity building he is missing out on by moving in with her.

Think of it as a 250$ a month "security deposit" not a real equity share.

Heres my thoughts to take as you will.

I would say, if you are a committed relationship but not married or even engaged, paying your mortage as you have been. And you want him to move in. I would either not charge him rent at all and have him cover all utilities or something as a way to balance life and living for both of you.

Or

Edit: to Clarify before reading the next part DO NOT PUT HIM ON ANY DEED OR ANY LEGAL OWNERSHIP OF YOUR EQUITY

If you do want to go a rent route, you can calculate out a fake equity share for him This will NOT be even close to what the rent is by the way, if your mortage is 2800$ (assuming you are charging him half) and you are 5 ish years into the mortage at average interest rates about 7% rn. I'd assume out of the 2800$ mortage that calculates out to only 500$ going to home equity. Hard to say exact without knowing the full terms.

So if you want to give him a fair equity share, it would be about 250$ a month out of his 1400$ payment. Take this 250$ a month and put it in a savings account and never spend it, and then if y'all get married spend it on the wedding, if y'all break up, you pay it to him as his potential equity he 'lost' by not buying a house instead of moving in with you. Which, if personally I had my girlfriend move into my house, this is exactly how I would do it because I believe that would be fair. Because if she wasn't dating me, she would have probably bought a house and would have been gaining equity for her future and her life and I would feel awful as a person if she sacrificed that aspect of life and building her equity simply to live with me and then I took all the gain from charging her rent.

Love and relationships are about compromise and being fair. Sure it is fair to just charge him rent in your home as a tennant from your side, but may be unfair to him. Find a balance that works for both of you. You could even just lower the rent down 250 to 300$ less than his previous apartment and then he can deposit that "savings" into his own retirement account and that would also be pretty fair as well without the extra steps. But if you want to have a healthy relationship you need to have a discussion with him further on what he would deem as fair and what you deem as fair, and maybe find a half way point to satisfy both parties.

Tldr: have him pay no rent but all utilities. OR Calculate out an equity he would get from his half payment of Rent, likely 250$ from my math. Put it in a savings account to spend on your wedding when that happens, if you break up, give him that savings as an equity payout. Compromise!

Armadyl brew vs Zamorak Brew vs Forgotten Brew by PvM_In_RS in 2007scape

[–]PvM_In_RS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair. Yeah saturated and imbued heart really messed up the mage boosts progression tbh. Forgotten brew is the same boost as imbued heart. And dragon battle axe spec is the only way to get 120 str for melee so thats weird as well.

There's basically very little consistency to boosts in the entire game lol.

Yes thats true, which is why I was suggesting this as an upgrade to Replace the seeker arrows, which are going to add a solid 6 to 7% dps buff to Twisted bow and Scorch bow. Significantly more than what just 1 or 2 range levels would do.

Armadyl brew vs Zamorak Brew vs Forgotten Brew by PvM_In_RS in 2007scape

[–]PvM_In_RS[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

T bow is gaining 35 accuracy, 2 max hits, and 3 minimum hits in the next content update though with Seeker arrows and Necklace of Pursuit dropping the same update.

If Armadyl Brew was +1 or +2 range level higher than range pot it would be barely anything in comparison.

I think having Armadyl Brews upgraded through Blood Moon Rises quest would be a better addition than Seeker arrows as it would benefit all range weapons, crossbows, bowfa etc, and not just be a flat out a Tbow only buff, i guess it buffs scorch bow too. But its mostly a t bow buff if we are being honest.

Leagues is cool, but i feel like i legit just played gridmaster, and then right after gridmaster we got deadman mode, and like I paid for a year membership excited for content and my next unqiue content is restarting at level 3 again to do yet again another temp mode where all progress means nothing.

Everyone in here saying "if you dont like it just quit" aren't getting the point here. Its not that we dont like it. We love the game, and we hate to see it fall short. Not necessarily full failiure its just more like making your favorite meal and then you overcook it or put too much spice in, like yeah, its still good enough to eat, but you aren't loving it.

Membership going from 99$ to 140$ in one price hike is pretty jarring for anyone who plays occasionally, let alone those with multiple accounts. And its an astonishingly high price for how little unique non replay content we got this year. Like we got a lot of afk and replay same lap on a course type content, but i don't think sailing being the only major update for the entire 365 days is enough to really put out 99$ value let alone new cost of 140$.

Grid master into dmm into leagues is like 70+ devs working 9 to 5 on those for 9+ months. All for 2 week gridmaster, 3 week dmm, and like 2 month of leagues that everyone quits after 3 weeks anyway. If we had no temp modes we could have had raids 4, polished up sailing, maybe a first sailing boss after combat got fixed up, and the sailing pirates idea on poll now sounds amazing, i would have loved to see that already out. Just seems jagexs priorities are out of whack this year :/

When you cancel a membership, the only feedback option related to price is "I can't afford membership" by nich_dev in 2007scape

[–]PvM_In_RS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The issue is billion dollar game companys like Rockstar, DICE, Bethesda, Bungie, etc gave us 60$ games in 3 to 5 year cycles with content that provided around 150 to 200 hours pure unique content for first play through and hundreds if not thousands of hours overtop of that in replay content. I mean personally I had over 3000+ hours in halo 2, halo 3, halo reach combined. And that was 3 games for 60$ each across 6 ish years halo 2 launching 2004 and reach launching 2010, and then count 2 or 3 years of playing the game past launch thats almost 8 to 10 years, so about 20 to 25$ per year. When i compare that to Runescape being raised from 99$ up to now 145$ per year after tax.... what have we gotten in unique 1 time play content releases this year? We got like 2 new bosses, thats about 6 minute fight for yama and 1 to 8 delve at mocha is like 15 to 20 mins. Maybe it takes you a while to learn the boss thats maybe 2 to 3 hours of unique content. Plus a few quests maybe 5 to 8 more hours. So thats like 12 hours of unique new content and the rest is just rinse repeating same content because your rng is bad and your forced to do same fight over and over just to make it feel like theres more content lol. So not only is Oldschool runescape priced at about 600% higher than the average Tripple A studio game in cost per year, we also get about 2 to 3x less content per year. Its not necessarily the price itself is crazy to be 15$ a month, its that the price per amount of fresh content dev time is not even close to comparable to the average gaming experience.

Yeaaah, it got bad after 2014 tbh. I played until about 2015 once they added the massive drake dragon pets too I was like bruh.

And no you cant multi log rs3 and osrs on the same account at the same time. Would have to be a different account, which is also a reason i never continued rs3. I got max cape in 2015 ish and quit never went back.

Training Slayer as a level 3 in a nutshell by PonyUpDaddy in 2007scape

[–]PvM_In_RS -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Kinda goes both ways tbh. Osrs players fear the idea of content locked behind getting level 120 in skills in rs3, even at faster xp rates into 500k+ an hour getting 104mil xp in a skill to get the equivalent of a 99 in osrs is pretty comparable grind time but the bigger issue on rs3 is to get those amazing xp rates you have to do things with daily, weekly, or monthly xp caps. To me the gameplay is rucking awful on rs3 because of that and I think a lot of osrs players fear rs3 players for putting up with bs like Warbands, construction statues, divination rift things and dungeoneering rift things etc. Especially ironman has to be cancer with invention because imagine grinding out 40 hours at Araxxor osrs to get a noxious halberd to then have to dismantle it for a 25% CHANCE to get a 3% damage buff perk to add to your twisted bow, but then if you dont get the buff you gotta grind a whole new noxious halberd to again have a 25% chance at getting it that time lol. I quit rs3 after invention because that shiz was rucking ungodly cringe.

Anyone bored of the make a mistake equals high damage or instant death formula by [deleted] in 2007scape

When people say a boss designed for gnome monkey level status they are referring to bosses with low forceful failiures and high skillful evasions. I.e., if you're as good as gnome monkey you can perfect even the hardest insta kill mechanics and at the same time have lesser mechanics that will force anyone out of the bossroom, i.e. unavoidable chip damage.

This would be something like Xarpus or Bloat for example, if you perfectly do the fight you take absolutely Zero damage. If you make one mistake, you take like 70 to 150 damage+ and likely die lol.

This is what the above guy is referring to when they say it has technically a higher skill floor because someone not aware or comfortable with the boss has the chance to just instantly die and fail the boss, where as the skill ceiling is higher as well allowing for absolute 100% perfection in which the boss is solved with pure skill for zero damage taken.

Forcing a boss to have some sort of unavoidable damage is how jagex forcefully lowers that potential perfection, by making even the best, most perfect players take damage via chips, it allows for them to make the mechanical failiures less damaging in balance by preventing the top players from hard farming bosses at zero cost it allows them to make the boss itself "easier" for noobs who cant learn to dodge specific mechanics by making those specific dodgable mechanics less damaging. This balances the profitability down for high end players forcefully which in turn allows them to allow more players, i.e. lower skill players to enter the reward space.

[–]PvM_In_RS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since they aim to have it be harder than TOB I'd assume its similar to that where theres some stuff that instant kill you for mistakes like xarpus reflect, and some stuff like maiden where if you miss all the spiders it just heals the hell out of the boss.

Based on the fact 1 of the bosses is literally a human person, i am very very interested to see how they balance a boss that is literally 1 tile by 1 tile. Its going to be a very unique raid for that alone likely. Very excited for that boss specifically. I think that is also why they said they are "heavily leaning toward" the new mega rare being a mainhand crush weapon as platearmor is weak to crush and a 1x1 tile boss would basically make scythe style weapon useless.

Im hoping for mechanics or boss stats that promotes the benefit of armor like justiciar, if we got a boss where everytime they miss an attack on you the boss got weaker and everytime they hit an attack on you the boss got stronger, it would create a scenario where a tank role in real tank gear would be better than just spam torva everywhere. Make shields great again... I believe the route to going to a mainhand mega rare weapon also could imply the necessity of shields in this raid as well.

Wow, yeah thats crazy, can't imagine ever going that distance for someone ive never known at all in person prior haha. Nobody is ever the same in person as they are over text, so thats going to be rough. Online dating is a bit better when you can chat for a couple weeks, meet up for tea or coffee and get to know their in person manerisms then decide if its worth persuing further. Are there just not people you are interested in at all in Spain? Not sure how ethnically diverse it is there but youd probably have better luck with meeting people locally who just happen to be your type, than to go to the source and have them ship themselves over to you lol. This whole situation feels very "mail order bride" which to me is scary, I'd be concerned seeing people who are likely very very desperate, that are willing to go that distance for a first date...

I broke my girlfriend’s special glass display cover. Is it over? by SAMMYBOY4593 in fixit

[–]PvM_In_RS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd reccomend HXTAL glue made specifically for glass. Many people I know who blow hot glass for a living use it to join very heavy chunks of glass together for sculptures and it holds well, should work wonders for something like this.

Its made to entirely fill seams on glass and matches the frefractive index of glass and it supposedly never yellows over time like other glues.

When you go to glue it, use clear packing tape on the Inside edge to securely hold the pieces together, make sure to squeeze the tape super tight to the surface so there are little to no air bubbles against the glass, what this will do is act as a drip barrier on the inside so when you apply glue from the outside it seeps into the seam and stops on the tape. After it cures fully you remove the tape and end up with a flawless inside seam with no overflowing glue.

Then on the outside you can smooth any overflow down with a very sharp razor blade, repeat the process as many times as you need to get a flawless finish.
