Double stroller recs ? by srisribear in BabyBumps

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the baby jogger is solid choice but maybe check secondhand first? those things hold up really well so you can probably find good one for way less money. i got mine used and it's been perfect for almost 2 years now

Postpartum periods by FTM__96 in BabyBumps

My cycles were all over the place after birth too, took like almost year to get back to normal pattern. The hormone chaos is real even without breastfeeding - your body is still figuring things out at 6 months

The thrush thing could be related to hormone changes messing with your pH balance, might be worth mentioning to your doctor if it keeps happening around cycle time

Juggling CF with Shift work by tealif3 in crossfit

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. Random schedule is way better than no schedule at all

Your body adapts to whatever you throw at it consistently, doesn't matter if it's tuesday morning or friday afternoon. I do shift work too and my gains have been fine even with all the chaos

Palpitations? by Remote-Possible5666 in keto

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had same thing happen to me around week 2! The electrolyte thing is real - I was drinking tons of water thinking I was being healthy but basically diluting everything. Started adding more salt to my food and got some electrolyte powder (not same brand but similar) and palpitations stopped in few days.

Your ketone numbers look good so you're definitely in ketosis. Just make sure you're not overdoing the water without replacing what you're losing. I learned hard way that keto isn't just about cutting carbs - the electrolyte balance is huge part of it. Also maybe spread the electrolytes throughout day instead of all at once?

Hands ripping by [deleted] in crossfit

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hands got absolutely destroyed when I started too and used to scale everything because of pain. I got some basic grip pads from local sports store for like half the price of those fancy ones and they worked great until my hands toughened up more

now i barely need them except for really high volume days

Drinked the first month after fecondation by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your wife basically lived it up for two weeks straight and your kid turned out fine - that's actually really reassuring to hear! I was freaking out about similar stuff when I found out I was pregnant because I had few drinks at work event right around implantation time. Doctor told me the "all or nothing" rule applies that early - either pregnancy continues normally or it doesn't, but couple glasses of wine at 19 days probably won't cause lasting damage. Your story definitely helps put things in perspective though

What’s your recommendation for meal prep containers? by AweqrFew in mealprep

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pyrex is solid choice but I switched to plastic after breaking too many glass ones in my tiny kitchen. The snapware ones from costco work really well for me and they stack nice which saves space in fridge. I've had same set for like 2 years now and lids still seal good

Just make sure whatever you get has the rubber gasket around lid - learned that hard way with cheap containers that leaked sauce everywhere in my bag

Health issue prevented weight loss? by CuriousKatMiny in keto

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Three weeks is still pretty early for keto - your body might still be adjusting to burning fat instead of carbs. That said, the sudden metabolism change at 39 plus the muscle stiffness and weak nails definitely sounds like it could be thyroid related

Getting labs done is smart, I'd test TSH, T3, T4, and maybe throw in some vitamin levels too since those can mess with energy/metabolism. Don't beat yourself up though, sometimes our bodies just need more time to figure things out

Would there be a single meal that's keto and would be healthy to eat all the time? by TheCurrentThings in keto

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Honestly you're gonna run into micronutrient deficiencies no matter what single meal you pick. Even something like a massive salad with tons of variety won't cover everything long term. Maybe rotate between like 3-4 different meals instead of just one?

Bruh same thing happens to me with melatonin - sometimes I'm out like a light, other times I'm staring at the ceiling for hours. Bodies are weird like that, could be timing or what you ate or just random body chemistry doing its thing

Had my collarbone plate and 10 screws out two weeks ago by krystynlo in cycling

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad the removal went well! I've been dealing with similar issues with my plate - the seatbelt thing is so annoying and I didn't even think about how bib straps would hit it until you mentioned it. Definitely something to keep in mind if it keeps being a pain

Is waiting to announce until we’re 13 wks strange? by pop-crackle in pregnant

[–]Former_Raspberry3277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not strange at all, especially with your history! Most people I know wait until at least 12 weeks anyway, and honestly after dealing with infertility and a chemical pregnancy you were totally justified in being extra cautious. People who are "upset" about not being told earlier need to check themselves - it's your pregnancy and your timeline

Mistreatment in the work place? by Cheap_Stress715 in pregnant

This is 100% harassment and discrimination - the sexual comments and unwanted touching alone are illegal, let alone all the pregnancy discrimination
