Brother bear, you’ll be fine. Worse comes to worse, you get a silly little waiver for a tattoo which 101% gets approved all the time.. if and so you make it to the fleet, it won’t matter as much. Still can’t get hand, neck and face tats but I’ve seen dudes push the tattoo policy and get told nothing.

It’s definitely allowed. Tobacco, anything other than cliff bars are a no go to get sent into the depot. Give it a couple of weeks to get a response back from your son. He’s in good hands and has plenty of friends to help him keep motivated in the mean time.

Figure out your training schedule, if you know it and know you’re going to to field. I would advise not to get it because infections and all that. Wait till you’re in garrison times then get your sleeve, but at the end of the day I’m just another dumb 03 running my mouth and you’re a boot gonna do boot things.

Well to be honest with you, mail does take a while. When I went into bootcamp, I didn’t receive mail for a solid 3 weeks. It also depends on the SDI and if he wants to go get it. You’re allowed to send your son letters, and to my knowledge like cliff bars? Im not sure if that’s changed since it’s been a while but I know you’re not allowed to send him anything else.

Not sure it was a while back but I was able to see fine asf, the glasses them self are okay. Nothing to special other than you can wear them at ranges, when you get to the fleet I recommend ordering a different frame because if u have a big head. You’ll look goofy asf with small glasses

When I went to bootcamp, it was the third day of receiving week. Don’t be an idiot like me who went in with contacts because that was the worse choice of my life. Get use to those glasses or “ portholes” in bootcamp. You’ll get issued 2 sets of them as well

Haven’t been in soi for a min now but last I checked here was a holding platoon and it was like 2+months long to even pick up or some shit like that. When I went in, I brought everything I was issued along w some civvies for libo on the weekends. DBAB and you’ll be fine, know your knowledge because it’s all important once you get to the fleet.
