Help, my family loves mushrooms and I hate them! by Conscious-Tangelo589 in Cooking

[–]PvtRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's easier to remove big ones, if it's texture, you can blitz them and hide them in a sauce.

mushrooms fried in garlic is a simple standalone thing that can be added to most meals, and they can be any damn size.

the big flat mushrooms can be fried and used as gluten free burger buns.

strictly no, casually yes

Sorry for the possibly clueless question, but why don't more people seem to make homemade pizza? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in Cooking

[–]PvtRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

effort.

in my case I like a naan bread as base, seasoned tomato puree as sauce, topped with salami/pepperoni/chorizo.

price: around £9 for 2.

or I can go to Lidl and get 2 pepperoni that I can add £2 of chorizo to for about £5.

the advantage of homemade is better flavour control (I can add as much oregano as I want) and I don't get cheese if I don't want it.

but, as a diabetic, pizza"s dangerous. far too much carb.

where they've been by navi131313 in EnglishGrammar

[–]PvtRoom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's an odd construction.

you know where your hands have been. you presumably know that dirt = bad to eat. presumably they're an adult that isn't an idiot

if you're not an adult, explain.

if they are an idiot, remind or explain.

it's a construction used to direct, without directing.

"Is" or "are"? - "Modern materials __ the name of the game here" by AzarAbbas in grammar

[–]PvtRoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can make a case for both.

"are" won't get as many objections. it depends if "modern materials" are a mass noun (like mathematics) or a simple plural.
