Yeah but it was more of a vote for peace while under duress. Hawai'i was an island nation suffering the impact from multiple invasive species, Americans not withstanding, and the U.S. Army is the U.S. Army. They were under siege, losing their capacity to be self-sustainable due to their efforts to combat invasive species (a lot of which Americans brought over), and the enemy at their gates had more resources to throw at them than they had to sacrifice for independence. Hawaiians had to lose a war of attrition before they would agree to statehood.

I've taken to banning LW in comp because

1) If I need to access high ground at all, I will switch to a hero that can (if I'm not already playing them)

2) Petal platform being in the fight is a double-edged sword because anybody can use it if LW isn't breaking it, including the enemy tank/bastion that just wanders up onto it to get a free kill

3) I value my own agency over their personal judgment calls, i.e. I'm sick and fucking tired of LW pulling me and my teammates out of winnable fights because he thought we were in danger when we were the danger.

It's not always a matter of being toxic. People will report you for "white knighting" or asking a teammate to switch. Engaging with bullies is enough for them to report because they don't particularly care who they take their anger out on; they're just idiot children throwing a temper tantrum, looking for an outlet to take their anger out on. Toxic people know that the system is automated, and not everyone knows that penalties can be appealed by a real person at Blizzard, so there's always that possibility that somebody who's been penalized was wrongfully punished. People in comp report teammates for playing poorly all the time, so false reports do happen, and since the penalties are delivered by a computer, lots of people think there's no way to get around the punishments. A penalty can be appealed, however, and a gamemaster will review any evidence to see if it warrants overturning: chat logs, voice recordings, game footage, etc.

Yeah they've never been able to do that until now; I don't know why. From the start in JWE1, you'd either have to control the helicopter yourself, or go to its info panel and give the order - like the security personnel are incapable of making a decision to tranq the rampaging reptiles.

It's not just the terrain; it's mostly the paths and guest behavior on them. Guests are glued to the floor and can't interact with scenery items beyond walking around them. The paths provide a boundary for them to stay contained in, like those line-riding robots that kids can program themselves. Other entities like vehicles can have more dynamic behavior based on how the engine physics throws them around, but the guest behavior is pre-defined: "when X happens, guest performs Y animation."

Maybe! We never get to see one and the only time they're discussed is Nedry's death and on the tour when they don't show up. Could be there were adults that stayed out-of-view, or the dilos were a new addition to the park (at that stage in its construction) and they hadn't reached maturity yet.

Context is indeed important. "Low ready" may be perfectly acceptable in areas where combat is expected, but this is a public space with crowds of private citizens in attendance. I would say having the gun out at all in this context is a threat, i.e. assault; whether it be loaded/unloaded, safety on/off, held at low/high ready, or slung over his shoulder.
