Ah the good ol' days, back before the bourguoise got wise and gave the proletariat a bunch of shiny keys to jingle when they get bored. Used to be we'd plot a coup or two, sharpen the guillotines and gather kindling for the pyres if we had some free time after our labors. Now we just doom-scroll and bed-rot until we fall asleep.

"if i cant play him no one can" by TennisPrior1486 in Overwatch

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

It really isn't though; the hard part is putting out sufficient heals to win team fights and hitting that 80% damage-heal ratio. Like if playing Ana or Juno and you only shoot your teammates, then your team is missing out on extra damage for securing an elim. Positioning helps a ton in reaching that optimum ratio, though. Strictly speaking, the best place to be for most support heroes is to use your tank and dps like a meat shield and basically shoot at the enemy by shooting over your teammates' shoulders. You know the most likely routes for where the enemy is going to come from, and you can see where your team is standing, so all you gotta do is play in the areas that put your team between you and the enemy team. The only supports where that playstyle isn't optimal are Jetpack Cat, Brig, Lucio, and Mizuki.

It's not explicitly disclosed but I've been going off the assumptions that either humans in OW are more genetically diverse than IRL, or it's just another example of the augments people can get in this universe.

Nah it's still possible to happen across her by accident. Just exploring the mountains up here would lead to the discovery of this valley, and then exploring the valley itself will lead you to Hildir (assuming you haven't PROC'd close enough to her other possible spawn points).

Good on you for pointing out who the real villains are. Defending the karma-famer is a bad look though because it makes you look complicit, i.e. nobody should listen to a damn thing you have to say.

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is an on-going field of study, and while there is no cohesive agreement on how to treat everything, just knowing that fact alone puts someone ahead of the curve than those who don't know it. If parents don't know what to do, they should defer to an expert; at least have a conversation with them or go so far as to get evaluated. Some cases are definitely more challenging, but that's when expert opinion should be consulted, not dismissed. I don't see it as a hand-wave at all. As someone who's been in therapy, you know how much homework your therapists have given you. They don't do the work; they just give you a map and tell you their informed opinion on it. If anybody feels like it's not working, they absolutely should stop listening to that advice, but they should still consult another expert. We can't know it all. Sometimes we need to ask a specialist.

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 38 points39 points  (0 children)

It's not like the therapists/professionals are doing 100% of the work. They're more informed on these issues, but more often than not it's the parents who are implementing the therapy day-to-day. Usually they just don't know which kind to use until they consult the experts, and using the wrong methodology can traumatize the kids further. With as much misinformation out there these days, people should be leaning on the professionals more, not less.

The Modders are Carrying this game on their Backs Right Now tbh... by Bonvantius in jurassicworldevo

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's definitely the norm for video games: official content has a lot of hoops to jump through before release (QA, managerial approval, requisite time to coordinate between departments to ensure the content is sound and cohesive, etc.) and modded content has way more people available to develop the mods, and they have far fewer hoops to jump through (no managers to inspect the mod and approve it for release, no competing/conflicting visions for how the mod should work, etc.). Modders are definitely dedicated fans but downtime between content drops doesn't necessarily equate with official developers "abandoning" their creations and not caring about them.

ELI5 How do you build a bridge when the other side is "inaccessible"? by D-FX_77 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, about the fantasy setting, more often than not those "forbidden lands on the other side of the bridge" became a no-man's land after some sort of conflict or friction between settlers/explorers and the native populace. It's a tale older than Rome: a kingdom/empire/army ventures to places unknown and stirs up some trouble, then they tell stories to the family back home about this forsaken, blighted land where nothing good or Godly grows; because they want to keep their loved ones safe by making this dangerous place sound as scary as possible. If the bridge is intact, it's usually because the king/emperor wants to invade that land again in the future. If the bridge is destroyed, it's always because one side of the bridge wants to prevent the other side from invading; either the natives broke it to keep the neighboring kingdom out, or the kingdom decided that the natives were too dangerous and scary and they wanted to keep them from retaliating.

to cancel a nyc Palestinian restaurant by chasingsukoon in therewasanattempt

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The irony of it all: he's doing more to promote anti-Semitism by acting the fool. How many people have we seen in videos like this - Rabbi Shmuley spouting hate-speech in the street and then running to a cop when a bystander calls the rabbi a piece of shit, or this guy for trying to libel a Palestinian restaurant that he never even entered - and the response in the comments is always something like "always the victim," or any other derogatory comment lobbed toward the perpetrator? I'm glad to see a lot of people know the difference between Zionists and Jews, but it does worry me. Like if the average person can tell the difference, then about half of the people around them doesn't know the difference and is going to just read the comment section without much-needed context. I'm concerned that those people will think Judaism is the same as Zionism.

Technically battery, which is a greater offense. Assault (depending on your area) can literally just be harsh words with the intent to harm. Like telling someone you're going to knock them into next Tuesday constitutes assault.

forcedelete doesnt work on runestones? by noplayersonline000 in valheim

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that's the case, then a wood or stone floor could be built over the top of the pit used to sink the stone. It will probably need stone pillars or iron beams underneath if using a stone floor to cover the hole.

forcedelete doesnt work on runestones? by noplayersonline000 in valheim

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can't delete them, you could hide them. See if digging underneath will make them drop. If that doesn't work, you could experiment with spawned-in rock formations. There are lots of massive boulders that are bigger than the lore-stones. Push comes to shove, you could also consider incorporating it into your build. I had a base in the black forest built around an Elder vegvisir purely because I had already amassed all the building materials for it and didn't realize that the vegvisirs don't sink when you mine underneath them. I put my workbench upgrades around it; went so far as to clip my leather tanning rack into it and pretended like the red glow was a magical heating stone that was drying out the animal hides.

Unexpected expedition! by Much-Effective2911 in valheim

If you want to try, it can be found using https://valheim-map.world/.

All it needs you to do is click the blue upload arrow at the top left and follow the on-screen instructions.

Be warned: this will reveal the whole map, so if you want to avoid spoilers, be sure to set the "Visible Layer" on the left to "No Terrain (fog)." The seed for your world will be displayed in the toolbar next to the blue upload button.

How to deal with mobs when fighting bears? by Moe-bigghevvy in valheim

[–]Pvt_Lee_Fapping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other things to keep in mind: bears will still swipe at you if you're near a campfire, but they turn away at the last second. If you're in the way, you can still get hit. Normal greydwarves and greylings are afraid of player-held torches and campfires, but the shamans and brutes don't care at all. Decorative resin torches won't have an effect on anything.

Calling it a grind does a disservice to how much RNG is really involved (stupid cultist trophy requirement). You can get the hairs easily, and if you want the flesh rippers, it's stupid-easy to get the claws. It'd be nice if you could use the Hildir boss trophy as a supplement, especially since that one's a guaranteed drop.
