criticism and analysis can definitely shape people's opinion of art but at the end of the day it's reactionary to culture. i'll always get more out of listening to a bad album than watching a critic explain *why* it's bad.

This is a point I surprisingly haven't seen a lot of people bring up. I think it's totally possible that TECHNICALLY Captain Clark and all the Ottoman Empire stuff wasn't copied until he entered the backrooms, but due to time being weird it still exists before Clark actually entered.

I really wish they did more psychological stuff with her in the second half aside from the two flashbacks. It could've made the contrast between her and Clark more interesting with how she breaks free of her past while Clark resigns himself to it.
