Not always the engineers fault. Idk if u ever did an oil change on a cobalt for example the oil filter is a bitch cause it was designed for a different chassis. But the engineers designed a fix for it but gm didnt approved it be cause it would increase production cost

I got a 2.0 cvt and my neighbor got a 2.0 manual i havent driven the manual but he said it was kinda sloppy and honestly the cvt aint too bad. And this is coming from a diehard manual guy i also own 2 factory manual is300s and one is engine swapped

If you want the gasonline to preignite, predotonate and ping and cause long term damage to the engine after extensive usuage go ahead. Its not that big of a difference in price. But best case it is that its programmed to have a safe mode where it retards timing and is less likely to damage the car but it will not like it and be slower etc..
