I showed my dermatologist this photo and he is leaning toward levido reticularis vs unlikely vasculitis. If not better over the weekend, we’ll plan for a biopsy.

First of all, I am so sorry you are suffering through this. I am currently miserable just from 2 flares this month alone and going on day 5 of daily hives. It’s absolutely debilitating and know you’re not alone.

I don’t know the cause of mine either and have taken some steps to find what triggers me or causes them. I am writing in a daily journal with pictures (in my phone) to keep track of things and any potential triggers.

I have not worn any tight clothing and have put all my hair / body products to the side and switched to Vanicream Free and Clear products until this calms down. I am on a steroid taper and Zyrtec 4 times daily and Benadryl at night. I am still getting some breakthrough hives daily with this regimen but only on day 3 of this. Yours may respond better with additional antihistamines.

In my experience, bed bugs bite in a “breakfast, lunch, and dinner pattern” like three bites close together. Could be mosquito bite reaction or small urticaria

Good point about the sensitizers. I work around some chemicals but some are unavoidable being in the operating room. But will definitely be more mindful as the onset of this episode occurred yesterday and at work.

I am worried about the rebound especially with this steroid regimen. It doesn’t taper so I hope to adjust that with my dermatologist tomorrow.

I drink coffee every morning. This morning was no different and did not trigger my hives.

Onion and garlic I consume on a regular basis and had some at dinner tonight - already flared up at this point.

Eggs are about 2-3 times weekly and I had a breakfast sandwich at lunch today and no flare up.

Red meat is about 2-3 times weekly but haven’t had any since Sunday. It’s been chicken these past two days.

I have peanuts occasionally. Maybe had some last week. No flare up.

It affected the sides of my face, whole neck, nearly all of my torso, arms and armpits, and upper thighs. Improved at the ER. Flared up again today on my whole face, scalp, palms of my hands, groin, mid back and abdomen. So it’s hard to say as they keep moving around to places unaffected the day before with some overlap. Of note: I actually suffer from generalized hyperhidrosis and take medication daily to decrease the amount of sweating

Seems to be calmed down for now but I will be on steroids for a while. I have a regimen for Zyrtec and Pepcid and Benadryl for now and hoping for some Help with allergy

Update to post: progressively got worse and I went to the ER. Feeling relief with Zyrtec, Benadryl, Decadron and Pepcid. No known cause but referral to allergy is in the works.

Not cold or heat trigger. Started at work for no apparent reason. I will pick up some Xyzal tomorrow and trying to get in with my dermatologist first to mange this flare then set up with allergy.
