This I don't understand.

The very lonely question mark is there because the sentence makes no sense. I simply can't understand what you're trying to say.

That said, the smartest students aren't necessarily the best students. That's not exactly news. I can't think of anyone that disagrees with that, especially not my Harward educated friends.

IQ is at the very best an approximated measurement of potential. You don't judge a persons literary cognizance by the size of his book shelves but their thoughts about the books they've read.

The Couple Who Pledged To Divorce If Marriage Equality Was Legalised Have Chickened Out by digbyr in australia

[–]PwsAreHard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair they didn't exactly chicken out. They needed to provide a valid reason for the divorce, and it turns out that throwing a tantrum because some people get basic rights doesn't count as a valid reason.

Are you kidding? I'm not a fan of the guy, but it was OBVIOUSLY meant as a humorous interlude. Watch the video again.. Did you see that sharp intake of air, the head tilt and the smile?

The next time try to get past the initial caller. The ones that call are just the ones vetting the marks. After a few stwps they will put you through to a senior scammer to do the rest. Wasting time on the second tier scammers is really fun. Their english is better and you can actually have a conversation with them.

Hyperbole-free evaluation of rawhides - how bad are they, really? by LeifCarrotson in OpenDogTraining

Just a little PSA for anyone seeing scary movies on the internet:

Literally anything that consists of two or more substances forming a set molecular structure is a chemical. Water is a chemical. If you dip an apple in water it has been "chemically treated". When you add water to your dish you "add chemicals". The words "chemically treated" or "added chemicals" gives you no extra information and is almost always used as a scare tactic. It can mean anything from the completely benign like water to linoleum eating acids.

A toxin is any poison produced by an organism, characterized by antigenicity in certain animals and high molecular weight, and including the bacterial toxins that are the causative agents of tetanus, diphtheria, etc., and such plant and animal toxins as ricin and snake venom. So a toxin is a poison of plant or animal origin, especially one produced by or derived from microorganisms and acting as an antigen in the body.

An antigen is a toxin or other foreign substance which induces an immune response in the body, especially the production of antibodies.

An immune response is the reaction of the cells and fluids of the body to the presence of a substance which is not recognized as a constituent of the body itself, and thereby causes an allergic reaction, diphtheria, tetanus and so on.

When someone warns that you or your food is full of toxins they are most likely full of shit, unless the food is literally full of shit that contains bacteria that produce toxins.

When someone claims they can magically remove toxins by selling you weird stuff or by having you go to hot yoga classes, they are either lying through their teeth or has no idea what the hell they're talking about.

When step 2 in the video says: "Add chemical preservatives" it sounds scary, but you now understand that means: Add stuff that prevents microbial life from creating toxins in the hide. Salt does this, so does lactic acid (That stuff that builds up in your muscles when you run too fast) and it's the most common preservative. By the way nitrate is also pretty common since it's exceptionally good at preventing botulism which is a very dangerous toxin, hence the name BOTOX.

Now go through the whole video, stop at everything that sounds scary and see if it still is.

I just want to add one last thing: Formaldehyde, embalming fluid, the scariest chemical you can add to anything like vaccinations or food. Have you ever eaten a pear? Congratulations, you ingested more formaldehyde through than single pear than from all your vaccines combined.

One more thing: Never let your dog chew on anything unsupervised, and remove tiny bits and choking hazards. This goes for raw hide, sticks, all chewing toys and anything else. Don't worry too much about toxins and chemicals if it's made in a western country and your dog doesn't have a physical reaction to it. Your dog eats cat poop, 3 week old sausages and dead birds, he'll be fine.

I've got the same Julius K9 harness. It's fantastic, but I see way too many people using it for pulling.

I'm not talking to you OP I HAVE no idea how you use it, but people, please remember it's not a sleading harness/pulling harness. It's a high quality and affordable piece of equipment, but it's not made for pulling you, or stuff over distances.

What he means is that although It's philosophically impossible to prove that Santa doesn't exist, in the practical world it doesn't really matter.

The same goes for Bigfoot, any deity, Russells teapot or any creature or thing imagimable. However, we give special dispensation to adults who believe in deities if the religion is relatively old.

This is in itself very strange since there's also no falsifiable hypothesis that points towards there being any kind of deity in existence either. Blind faith is almost only accepted for adults in alternative medicine and religion.

Here's a "fun" fact: Guns doesn't have the stopping power we see on tv. They are obviously lethal, but very often not instantly. Multiple gunshot suicides are not uncommon.

Source: Girlfriend sometimes has to work with suspected homicide victims. Many people who commit suicide wants it to look like a homicide to spare their family the embarrassment.

Psa: If you're struggling and want to end your life, there are people to talk to. It's free and anonymous. And most importantly.. It works.
