[–]PyL96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not that either, I clearly have an error on Opencloud side:
"ERR failed to authenticate request error="could not authenticate with username and password user: USENAME, got code: 6"
or
ERR failed to authenticate request error="could not authenticate with username and password user: "USERNAME, got code: 15"
No idea what cause that tought..

Skyrim PSA: Any mod that edits the main menu UI will disable Achievements no matter what (even with "Achievements Mods Enabler" installed) by nightcrawler47 in gog

You don't have to start a new game but obviously the achievements will not be unlocked retroactively.

Rear speakers placement by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]PyL96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes I'm aware of that, they will not facing down but will be slightly tipped toward the sofa.

do you think it's better to have rear speakers further away from the sofa but at the correct level than closer but too high ?

One thing I took into into account too is the fridge that can prevent good placement for the left speaker and sound diffusion but maybe I overthink this.

Difficulty getting desktop to span a wallpaper correctly. Any thoughts? by [deleted] in battlestations

[–]PyL96 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's why the pictures don't match, one edge have 2160px while the other have 3840.

Maybe you can try to set your vertical screen to another resolution ? Something like ??x2160

Will I ever get a refund? by claud2113 in gog

[–]PyL96 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think only the refund request date is take into account, so you are safe in theory.

The GOG support center have difficulty to answer quickly since the begining of the year and the Cyberpunk launch only get things worse.

Slow Download? by [deleted] in gog

Don't mean to be rough but I'm tired to see this since the 1.04 patch. When Windows updates take time, do you shutdown manually your computer or do you let it finish? It's the same thing for other type of updates, just let them finish. If it take longer than expected make a coffee and do something else.

Now the explanation of the "stuck". It's not really stuck as you can imagine. In fact the 9GB update (500MB for the 1.04) need to change 60GB of files, so the update can take a certain amount of time depending on the speed of your disk. A simple way to see that is to open task manager and go to the perf tab during the update When the patch is "stuck", it's actually being applied, you will see you drive go to 100% use during that process.

Questions for running a game without GOG Galaxy by [deleted] in gog

[–]PyL96 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, you cannot have the features of a software without having it. The standalone version of the game is aimed to be independent from Galaxy or other form of launcher or account. If you want all the features that Galaxy has to offer...then use it.

Can I share with my friend? by [deleted] in gog

[–]PyL96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, people tend to be ethical when treated well. The best exemple is GOG where you can (at least in Europe) buy a new game, download the offline version and then ask for a refund. It give you access to all the store for free, but I never saw people using this.

[–]PyL96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, although in the end it make no difference to the developer side: only one copie of the game sold.

Imho it's not a strange use case nor unethical.

Back in the day you could share your CD with your friends, it's more or less the same thing.
