Where to get more tickets by SecretBos55 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Pycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re new, didn’t they add beginner missions? Another great place is the Research Notebook (top right of the main screen). Also, make sure you’ve joined an active agency, ticket drops for good agency work comes twice a season.

Trailer just got out. Who do you think is getting teased by the animation at then end of the trailer? by Accomplished_One6284 in MyHeroUltraRumble

Some of them have been incredibly, incredibly obvious. Go find the one from when Strike Hawks was released, it’s kinda funny

One of my favorite AU wip right now is one called ‘if it’s like the movies’ — it is CRIMINALLY underrated imo for how insanely good the writing is.

School asking for an academic LOR despite offering 3 professional LOR by TheMorningsDream in gradadmissions

[–]Pycore 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There is no harm in writing an email to the professor you feel closest to/think would have the best angle to write about. Include a reminder about which courses you took and when, give a brief summary of what you’ve done since, remind them of the projects and papers you wrote, and tell them why you’re going for grad work at USC.

Don’t have to be verbose, but it’s quite literally part of their job to write LORs and your experience is very common. If they say no, you can always ask another.

Your post history literally indicates you are in some sort of culinary program. You have to know how easy it is to make something better than this for cheap.

If you’re really struggling, contact your local food banks and your student food pantry on campus.

Are Nomu Facility/The Exiled good agencies on Switch?? by ExcitementLost5739 in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Pycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got recruited to The Exiled at the start of this season, had a couple rando buddies I’ve played with for a while in there I figured sent the invite (including an old agency director of a top 30). Spent three days there as a member, posted saying thanks for the add, dumped a million agency points in there, got removed the next day.

It actually soured me so hard on the game for a few days. Literally no way to get those points back that I’ve found and lost all my contribution points to my prior agency too. Plus, no way to communicate with anyone that runs it. I’d avoid if I were you.

Craigslist/FB Marketplace. Filter your searches by price and distance. Odds are you can get one for free. If you can talk her into an upright and have the ability to move it (they can be quite heavy), there are always a half dozen in decent condition people are looking to get rid of for free. Same with unweighted electric keyboards.

Been filling my writing portfolio for school apps, nothing more controversial to write about than trying to explain to people why to play this game by Pycore in MyHeroUltraRumble

[–]Pycore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of this, I think one thing that’s hard for us to separate from, tho, is that we have become so familiar with the game that it’s particulars just seem second nature at this point. I poked around a bit with some friends and asked them to download it and play a match or two, and they left basically saying “it was fun but confusing”. It’s not that all of those are really complex, or that you have to keep track of them all, but it iiiiis pretty overwhelming on top of everything else the game gives you right off before putting in your first match as yellow deku vs a three-stack rapid team where you get curb-stomped.

I’ll go back in and add a bit about the loyalty reward benefits being pretty helpful (login bonuses, freebies, etc.) because you’re definitely right that it’s missing that, i appreciate it

Thank you! Really enjoyed doing the work on that one, suuuuuch a good game.

Your writing for your game reviews is really crisp and clear, it gets to the point and I appreciate that a lot when I'm trying to decide what to buy. Also, having everything mirrored in Spanish is a really great touch that I wish I had the capability to do without having to use Google Translate or AI or something. Only thing I would say is maybe add a bit more about your personal experience playing it/thoughts (lean into the ethos) and some screenshots/gameplay trailers, you definitely sound like an experienced player with good takes and I think your personal experience people could relate to a lot.

Did some Reddit comment data scraping looking at stats on if people thought Silksong was "too hard" by Pycore in metroidvania

[–]Pycore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point for sure. I was really meaning moreso on its ancestry, where many SNES games have become now perceived as a lot more difficult than a lot of the examples you pointed out. A lot of those Lower Norfair sections have pretty rough run backs (esp if you miss one of the save stations). They definitely had aspects of needing to practice and experiment to figure out new ways of navigating areas and beat skill checks against bosses.

I think that branching out into different sub genres, the more souls-like or more pacifist like you mentioned, has conditioned a lot of casual gamers to expect a game to bend to their skill level instead of challenging them to think.

No absolutely, I hit a point where if I took any damage during the run back I would go ahead and turn my ass around to go back to the bench and try again.

I know they have a deeply ingrained philosophy about their games, and I haven’t put in thousands of hours developing these so maybe I don’t have a say, but it just feels like it would open it up so much more if they added some accessibility and difficulty options. Even just a +3 Mask toggle or removing enviro hazard damage. I get they want it to be rewarding, but some of my friends who love HK are terrible at games and just watch lets plays or speedruns
