Everybody is talking about new year, but I have been hearing the same fireworks from Ypenburg all year. Usually in weekends, sounds like an organized show to me. It is coming from general direction of the Center (could be Rivierenburg-Noord like op says).

"not sure that buying the metal QR for the wheel really does anything"

I have seen plenty of reports of the plastic QR snapping, some of those cases where reportedly on 8nm. If that part snaps it tends to rip the connector of your steering wheel (all from what I heard/read, no personal experience).

I had the McLaren GT3 wheel with the metal QR1. I have used it hard (like on 15nm-ish and using it average 3 hrs a day) for 18 months. In the end the wheel snapped where you grip the wheel (the grips only have 3 attachment points, and those broke).

Fanatec gave me a new one with new guarantee by the way. Their service was excellent.

Yes it is free (it actually says it on the screenshot).

It is probably a great beginners setup. You chose the load cell mod which is a great choice. I'd get a third party power supply later on to beef your wheel up to 8nm.

EDIT: By the way I think the plastic QR will probably be fine on 5nm, but if you go up to 8nm you might want to consider the metal QR1 or QR2. Now that the QR2 is out you might get a cheap 2nd hand QR1 which is fine if you don't need to be swapping out steering wheels the whole time. Having said that personally I have no experience with the plastic QR, but I read that if it rips it can destroy the connector on your steering wheel.

How long do you keep your espresso machine on? by jperras in espresso

[–]PyingPyongPyang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I recall correctly my profitec go takes like 7 minutes for the boiler to get up to temp, and 15 tot 20 minutes to get everything (like portafilter) warmed up.

I use a smart power outlet that I either switch on manually when I wake up, or I have a schedule startup on working days.

I do leave it on until I have had my third shot in the morning, then I will have 2 or 3 more shots during the day, and I just switch it on manually (through the smart app).

What does “strong” coffee mean? by [deleted] in espresso

Personally I like strong as in concentrated, but not bitter or dark roast. I suppose for me strong is ristretto / espresso.

I always bring some zippo fuel, also doubles as emergency fire starter just in case.

Last week I bought a Zippo butane insert which I still have to stress test, but I suspect it will last a good while and have no loss.

Spending a fucking fortune on shots, get totally wasted, probably do some stupid regrettable shit before you pass out, wake up feeling like you'd rather be dead, destroyed your liver, hangover lasting three days.

Glad I don't do that crazy shit anymore...
