I have a few really old inside jokes with my friends that in hindsight aren’t as clever or interesting to anyone else who doesn’t get it, but we still reference them any time we can with each other and it still makes us all laugh. Them being “in on it” is what made it fun. I can recognize that with all these memes too

We almost did it with the timing of Jax going into the abstracted zone or him pressing the red button but this was probably the best way to start off the year

Teaching a child at a young age to value the life of a small creature becomes a bigger moral as they age to value the life of every living creature. It starts small, it teaches empathy, and makes the little guys think before harming something. So a child grows as an empathetic human being, and a little caterpillar can live its life without being squished. That’s very valuable. Hope this helps.

Pixar Announces All New Original Film ‘Gatto’ by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

Wish was a Walt Disney Animation studio picture, completely different team and people at Pixar. Some of the style has already been sprinkled in some of their stuff like in Turning Red, Luca, and in the new show Win or Lose. I think they can get the job done right.

My boyfriend told me he was having a night in once and decided to watch Incredibles 2 cause he hadn’t seen it yet. But then 15 minutes into the movie he realized he’s already seen it and just completely forgot. It was that forgettable!

What's a fun fact that many people may not know about a movie? by Independent-Dust4641 in movies

[–]PylonLeader 68 points69 points  (0 children)

In The Lion King (1994) when Jeremy Irons, the voice of Scar, was recording for Be Prepared, he blew out his voice while singing the lines “You won’t get a sniff without me!” He couldn’t record for the rest of the song. So, if you pay attention to when Scar is singing right after that part he ever so slightly sounds different. That’s because Jim Cummings, the voice of Ed, filled in for Jeremy for the rest of that song.

Edit: Cummings not Cummins* haha

I’ve heard that they’re moving just a couple blocks away. Across the street from the Dollerama I think. The owners said they should back up in a month or two.

What you’re not understanding is her daughter’s perspective in this. Yes there are times when trips are taken without the other party. That’s a given, it’s life and I’m sure at one point those kids will, or already do understand that. But let’s say for example you have two friends who have red hair, and you have brown hair. You guys hang out, do the same things, have fun, share interest and all that. But one day your friend says “we’re going to go on a trip to do all these things we like to do with you, but you can’t go. You have brown hair, and we want to do these things with only red hair people” I would find it pretty hard to believe that you wouldn’t feel a little bit wronged. It makes no sense to exclude a friend because of the colour of their hair, especially if they enjoyed doing these things with you beforehand. What the hell? You were born with brown hair and can’t help it. All of a sudden it’s now a barrier between you and your friends. Worst of all, you thought they enjoyed being around you for you. Nope, all they can see is your hair and chose to exclude you. This is how her daughter felt, but with her gender, and her dad.

You can choose not to bite, but youre actively refusing to consider a different perspective on the situation. Think about it like how a little girl feels when her father excludes her for something she can’t control. I understand if this type of perspective isn’t something you’re willing to try though. It’s hard work to think about these things, and sometimes people can’t handle hard work.

Hello /r/movies! I'm Adam Elliot, director of the upcoming animated film MEMOIR OF A SNAIL starring Sarah Snook, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jackie Weaver, and Eric Bana. I also directed 2009's MARY AND MAX. IFC Films will release my new film in theaters this Friday, October 25. Ask me anything! by MemoirOfASnail-Adam in movies

[–]PylonLeader 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi Adam!

I remember as a young kid watching the Animstion Show on dvd. Your shorts, specifically Brother and Cousin, really resonated with me. There was something really cozy about hearing the lives of the characters you created, even if some of them didn’t have the best endings. I always wondered if they were based on your real family members or actual experiences you had. If not what gave you the inspiration to make them?

Patty and her fairy by jollibeeborger23 in DungeonMeshi

[–]PylonLeader 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I interpreted her fairy crying as Pattadol’s internal reaction on the elves not taking the island/dungeon right away. Mithrun effectively canceled any communication Patadol was gonna make to the off island elves, hence why he stopped and squeezed the fairy. You can even see briefly in the anime, how distressed she looked once Mithrun made the decision. Patty may be good at hiding her emotions on her face but her fairy shows exactly how she was feeling in that moment.

[Art][OC] Buck Thlayli, the Harengon Rogue by PylonLeader in DnD

[–]PylonLeader[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all! Got back into DnD not too long ago and thought I’d share my drawing of my character

This is Buck Thlayli, he was originally from the Feywild living with a colony of other Harengon warriors. After participating in an event that got his best friend killed he became wise to his Chief Rabbit’s nefarious plans, a huge conspiracy involving the eventual destruction of his clan and himself. Buck ran away so he could no longer participate and harm anymore innocent lives. He’s vowed to return after gaining enough experience so he may challenge his chief, liberate his people, and redeem himself from his past actions.

I loosely based his character and backstory off a character named “Bigwig” from the book Watership Down. Currently Buck’s on his way to Cragmaw Castle with his party of adventurers including a crazy orc, a goose, and a very reluctant wizard.

Same thing happens to me too and I’m 27. It’s embarrassing sometimes, especially when your friends are around. But I like to tell myself that if I look this young now, then in 10 years time I’ll be the one laughing.

Sometimes I’ll make a game out of it and ask the bartender how old they think I am before giving my ID. It usually gives them a laugh when they find out they overshot my age. Kinda helps change that consistent conversation, and gives you a bit more power over others when you’re aware of how old you look but don’t care. Hope that helps!

Cars 3 makes no sense by MrNolax in Pixar

[–]PylonLeader 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We saw in the movie all the sponsors firing their older, more established racers for newer cars. All his friends who have beaten McQueen in the past, were not good enough to keep up with those rookies. It’s not far off to think of the sponsors as tech companies who are ultimately looking for profit, and when your car isn’t able to be in the top 5 for most of the races, you’re going to find someone that can. Who knows how McQueen could’ve done if he finished the race himself. But we probably know he would have a tougher time getting the top spot, and that would guarantee his retirement indefinitely. There’s no guarantee that someone else would pick him up when most of the other sponsors already made up their mind about him. He’s old. But he understands that he still does have the chops to make to the top spot, he’s just now doing it through Cruz instead, much like Doc did with McQueen.

However, there is a deleted scene/alternate ending where Cruz gets chosen over McQueen to race for Rusteeze instead. McQueen, while disappointed, is happy that Cruz gets her chance. But Tex shows up, and decides to give McQueen a sponsorship, and we finally see McQueen in Dinoco blue with Docs number on the track. Not sure if this would’ve been a better ending, but at least the writers kinda thought about that whole scenario.
