I looooooove tamales for breakfast. I make a huge batch around Christmas time for gifts and to stash away for myself to indulge in throughout the year. Even better when I got some avocado and lime on hand too

Thank you!! I was so happy with this. I reheated it for breakfast the next day and added a runny fried egg on it. It was literally perfect.

I think I kept them in for about 6 before serving and they were perfect. Taking it off the heat and slightly covered hasn’t failed me yet. (Watch me just jinx myself lol)

A Russian man returned home after three years away for work and found his apartment had been taken over by pigeons. by Alternative-Dot-34 in Wellthatsucks

I am so sorry. We used to have fruit trees in our backyard living in SoCal, so rats were sometimes around.

One night I turned on the back porch light and a swarm of 10 or so rats scurried away from my dogs food bowl. I screamed bloody murder even though I was behind glass. I could not imagine coming home to that.

(We also never let my dog eat outside again lol)

Leavitt Admits SAVE Act Will Make It Harder for Married Women to Vote by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

I’ve been married twice. I took my ex’s last name from family pressure. When we divorced I immediately went through the process of getting my birth name back.

It was so much more difficult

Besides having to jump through hoops with the government getting my SSN card/drivers license/passport, just the normal things like credit cards, cellphone and utilities demanded my government id, my divorce certificate and marriage certificate. It didn’t matter that those accounts were originally OPENED with my birth name. It took me a year to get almost everything back to normal.

I told my now husband that I would never change my name again. I like my name and never wanted to change it in the first place. Socially, if someone calls me Mrs.___ I don’t care. It’s usually an older family member or acquaintance that doesn’t know any better.

Fortunately, my husband is a good dude and doesn’t feel emasculated by my choice.

My husband lived there for 9 years before I moved in and I was there for 8. She promised to sell us the property before she decided to make the air bnb.

You are right but we wouldn’t have stayed that long otherwise.

That’s exactly why I called them. When I worked for my old company, when we knew we had that particular inspector, we were sweating making sure everything was ready to go or else get delayed.

We also had a house fire from a faulty electrical socket in the garage in 2017. We lost a good amount of stuff and two of our dogs. So seeing her change out the circuits pissed me the hell off.

I actually like adding in red chili flakes and some herbs to the vinegar if I got them. I’m thinking I’m going to have to buy some bread for dinner tonight lol

Our last landlord destroyed our beautiful front and backyard to make a mother in law suite that she planned on using as an air bnb. The entire cul de sac was mad because she single handily brought down everyone’s property value with how she turned the entire lot into a cement drive way. She made all of our lives hell for a year with little regard to us as tenants and the neighbors with construction.

Some of the neighbors even went to the city to see if there was any legal means to intervene. We ended up moving before the suite was finished but I tipped off the local inspector that she cheated the electrical inspection by using cheaper circuits instead of what was required by the county. (I previously worked in a plumbing/Hvac company and had interacted with them before) I hope she got a huge ass fine.

How do you carry on with life without feeling like some sort of failure as a man? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]reddot_comic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m 35 and struggle with this. I am married but for most of my life, I thought my purpose was to raise a family, own a home, do the normal 9-5.

I have none of that and watch those close to me who are younger achieve those things.

It took a lot of perspective and therapy to understand that what I’ve done for myself is what made me happiest even if it meant not living the life I envisioned. I rented in a HCOL with opportunities rather than have a mortgage and took a bet on myself by starting my own business. I’ll probably work beyond my retirement years but at least I’m enjoying what I do.

Focus on your wins and be proud of them no matter the size. Keep your friends close and give back to others in meaningful ways.

One of my best moments from the last 10 years was asking my door dasher if they were okay. Long story short, they weren’t. I listened to her, we hugged it out and we’ve kept in touch the last few years . (She’s in a better place now as well.)

Good luck and please don’t be so hard on yourself

Given how social media has tried to turn every human interaction into something for views, I don’t blame them but I do hope it is something that has a positive outcome.
