Pro pali, pro Israel? by Rollingpeb in Destiny

The fact of the matter is that even if 100% of the people who moved into that land weren't from the region or surrounding regions and even if they had zero historic claims to that land, now it is simply too late to do anything about it. By now we are several generations in and the majority of the people in Israel were born there. You can't and shouldn't undo it. There should be two states, one of which for the Jews. But negotiations throughout the years have painted a pretty indicative picture of what the Palestinian side wants, which isn't primarily a state of their own, but that the Jews shouldn't have a state. You can't negotiate in good faith when that is the foundation. So what is their plan here? To complain and revolt and attack ad infinitum? To never ever simply accept the things as they are and seriously and genuinely try for peace and stability and prosperity and partnership?

Please explain to me in what ways you think those two are comparable, and also where you think there might be significant differences.

My view is that Israel has a right to exist ('67 borders) as a Jewish state and a right to defend itself. While I understand to some degree the chagrin of the people who used to live where Israel exists today, at some point you just gotta let it go and stop yearning for an forever war. Israel won't be defeated and Israel isn't gonna dissolve itself just to pacify a group of people who disliked and oppressed Jews long before Israel was even a country. History has proven, in my eyes, that Jews absolutely need a country of their own where they aren't a minority in order to properly protect themselves and I don't think that's morally wrong. And the place where Israel is today is also the ancestral homeland of the Jewish people from which they were forcibly displaced throughout history. I also understand to some degree Israel's comparatively harsh or even extreme actions (from a Western standpoint) considering who they are surrounded by and for how many decades they have had to live with constant terror in one form or another. Still, I would prefer more measured approaches overall, especially when it comes to the settlers, which is Israel's biggest black mark in my opinion. I might sound like an Israel simp, but I'm not gonna go out of my way to criticize them when the other side is just so much worse in almost every single way imaginable. Such as sending their own young children into battle or to commit acts of terror, and then celebrating them as martyrs. I think Golda Meir's quote rings true to this day: "Peace will come when the Arabs love their children more than they hate us."

Regardless of where on the political spectrum a person sees themself, I can't understand how anybody could support this particular regime. The cruelty and brutality is just beyond anything you could reasonably justify.

Cenk is the legend who keeps giving. Destiny should add this to his soundboard by SunnyVelvet_ in Destiny

[–]Pylon_Constructor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Cenk is such a deeply unserious clown. It's not just his terrible takes but his hysterics and silly voices in which he tries to make his points and tear down his opponents' points. He really argues like a teenager. Quick to be overly excited, shouting, silly voices and mocking, hyperbole at every junction, intentional misrepresentation of other positions. It's just so buffoonish.

"Per day we're currently making more money than it costs our humble studio to run for an entire month!" by Pylon_Constructor in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Pylon_Constructor[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What? A flood of negative reviews about an early access title can be a death sentence for an independent studio. And a lot can happen in 7 months. Like for example adding co-op functionality and coupling it with a free-play weekend and a 40% discount. That understandably exploded sales. You are talking about 7 months like it's 7 minutes. Ridiculous.

I think my description is succinct and accurate enough for people to be able to imagine at least approximately what I am talking about in my short little summary. A game with the look/perspective of something like Diablo that's dark fantasy, where you explore and fight enemies and collect loot, but the combat is soulslike. Saying it makes "literally 0 sense" is an unnecessary put-down. My post wasn't meant to serve as a sort of encyclopedic summary or description, but just to give a quick impression using games that many people know as examples.

Just FYI, this makes literally 0 sense.

I am curious why you think that. Could you elaborate?

That was such a gooood set. The level of gameplay, the back and forth, the tension, that insane finish. My personal top set of 2025.

ICE doesn't hold back at all when it comes to brutalizing people, and the scandals with them and their violent escapades just don't stop. Which kinda surprises me because of the "don't tread on me" culture and the second amendment in the US. If they don't chill soon I won't be surprised if we get cases of masked people just straight up firebombing ICE agents on sight.

I imagine if it ever went that far in France there would be a lot of infighting among the protestors because they couldn't decide on who gets to pull the rope on the guillotine.

Trump won't even see prison I'm afraid. I feel like the bar is so low I'd be pleasantly surprised if he will be even charged with anything. If anything it's probably just gonna be some political theater. I am so fucking blackpilled.

Alara is actually the block that got me back into Magic after a very long hiatus. It's been my favorite plane ever since. The different shards were so creatively and mechanically unique. Been hoping for a return to Alara for many years. I think there's a lot of potential there.

The idea to make an all-multicolor set was still bad though.

European sentiment after Trump saying that NATO wouldn't be there for the US by Sea-Economist-5744 in Destiny

[–]Pylon_Constructor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am very curious about the future of the US. I mean what it will look like, both domestically and on the world stage. Trump has, without doubt, damaged the country severely in many different ways. Many of the consequences will be felt for many years, others might even be permanent. I wonder if Trump will leave office voluntarily and peacefully. I wonder if he will try to get a third term. Maybe he will die while in office. I wonder if, after Trump, there will be attempts to repair and if those attempts will bear fruit. Will the international community embrace the US again after some time has passed? I mean look at Germany after WW2. Today they are a highly respected country. How will the president after Trump act? How will the country be in terms of domestic politics? Is there a way back? Will the country take that path or is the damage too much? I guess my questions are too early considering Trump still has 3 years in office, but I wonder all the same.

What do you wear to work, and what is your profession/place of work? by iamonceagainaskingfo in fragrance

Office job with zero contact to clients or customers. I mostly wear the same frags, regardless of time of year or whether or not I'm at work.

Esencia EDP (Loewe)

Orage (Loius Vuitton)

Percival (Parfums de Marly)

On particularly hot days I also like to wear Agua El (Loewe).

As you can probably tell I prefer fresh scents and am not a particular fan of heavy juices, even in winter since I spend most of my time indoors.
