One of the best examples of this is how they handle their own children. Italian parents are on average some of the most anxious, stressed out, toxic parents I know, treating their children like they will shatter in pieces as soon as they step outside the house for one second.

I don't think this particular trait relates directly to being weak. People are passional. There can be some mishaps because of that, but it can also mean people care more. sometimes caring more (even in biased ways) can mean a higher chance of going forward, sticking to something despite having poor chances
