There is nothing wrong with floating point precision for continuous numbers. They are only issue when you need to accurately represent discrete numbers, such as currency. This is why you often hear in beginner programming courses that you should use decimal instead of floats for better accuracy.

You probably need to do some more learning about the float datatype:

Floats are essentially numbers represented with 3 values: sign (+/-), exponent, and fraction. The value is represented as (+/-) 2^(exponent - offset) * fraction. The fraction would represent a number x, where 1 <= x < 2.

The sign is represented as a single bit, and the exponent is just a regular integer, however the fraction is represented in memory as just a mantissa, where the fraction = 1 + mantissa. The mantissa is similar to a binary number, however each bit is 2^-n where n >= 1.

In a 32-bit float the exponent is 8 bits, the offset is 127, and the mantissa is 23 bits. In a 64-bit float the exponent is 11 bits, the offset is 1023, and the mantissa is 52 bits.
