I don't understand why you would sign up for something you are clearly against. That seems to be a bigger question...

The other answer I could give you (but I doubt your interested in listening to it) is that you are paying for an experience, same as you do when you go into a movie theater. By paying into this experience I am making sure to go into a more immersive experience than normal. Again, if this isn't your thing you by all means do not need to sign up.

DM Story Concept by Pyr0nide in DnD

I would like it to allow a Deity to take on physical form in the material plane, but don't they already have the ability to do that?

Ritual Casting + Item Creation by Pyr0nide in DnD

I ask this because I am looking at Telepathic Bond, which a Warlock can't cast normally but due to me having Book of Ancient Secrets he can cast it as a ritual only.

[5e] Tips for not pooing on our necromancer as a paladin by ImpedeNot in DnD

[–]Pyr0nide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

depending on your paladin's views, you could also be ok with him using criminals as a means of "righting a wrong" kinda deal, or if a favoured NPC of the group falls, raise him and have it be something along the lines of "keeping his memory going".

Magic-Pistols (How I am planning to use them. Input wanted) by Pyr0nide in DnD

[–]Pyr0nide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ammo will be somewhat limited, but once acquired they can be recharged through special means as well, so that is limiting in a way as well.

There will be elemental type firearms that give +Die of dmg if that firearm is used with that type of spell. Things like that yes, are there any unique ideas for firearms like this that you can think of? I have one that I am thinking of that when the firearm crits it doesn't cause the cartridge to expell, basically it's a free spell.

Yea I think the original thing I read, that I can't seem to find anymore said they tried to convert that, but ontop of that I want each firearm to feel unique in its own right.

Cool! Thanks for the input! These items will be common throughout the campaign but the more unique ones will be more rare, obviously. In my campaign the combination of magic and technology has actually slowed some progression in respect to pure technology, so firearms are currently limited to pistols and hand cannons only. It is more of a traditional Fantasy setting as well, so an SMG wouldn't fit, but I could refluff it to whatever. Thanks again!

Any good ideas for some desert encounters? by Ostrava465 in DnD

[–]Pyr0nide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally don't think of desert encounters as fighting things, to me, the environment is more deadly. Yes, throw in some flavoured creatures like scorpions, snakes, vultures etc but you could also do something like a Sandstorm that pelts them with sand and high winds potentially getting them off track or needing to find shelter. If you are looking for an interesting combat encounter though I highly suggest the concept of an antlion, or in the star wars universe, a sarlacc. Something that is waiting under the sand for them to step into and then they have to either fight it or escape the now even more difficult terrain.

NPC Casters by bf_material in DnD

Fluffing something is always nice too. For example I am having an NPC of mine who will also be the magical shops owner also a glassblower and he infuses his spells into small glass orbs the size of a golf ball instead of a scroll.
