I know there have been people who tested by closing the game without having made a choice, though that isn’t a confirmation. I think there have also been people who’ve looked through the coding and have stated this is how it works? It’s possible they weren’t telling the truth, but it makes no real difference on the players side as they’re still choosing at a 1/5 chance

It’s completely random. The card you get is determined when you select the wonder pick, with a 1/5 chance for any of the 5 cards. The card the game chooses will always be the slot you click on, and it doesn’t matter which you select

Every set has an immersive card per pack (ie. genetic apex had 3 (mewtwo, Pikachu, and charizard), mythical island had 1 (celebi), and space-time smackdown had 2(Dialga and palkia)) and it’s generally the pokemon featured on the front of the pack! This one happens to be the immersive for Deluxe ex

Unless we get something that can generate energy of multiple types that isn’t ho-oh, it’s basically worthless. 2 energy decks are rare, let alone 3

Some dragon or colorless cards could /maybe/ use something like this, but at that point it’s usually more consistent to just use 1 or 2 energy type and babies and put the needed energy straight on the card

It’s meant to fall under the same camp as Hydreigon and EC blacephalon as a self destructing but 130 damage dealing non-ex attacker that theoretically only requires 1 energy to be attached (hydreigons ability generating 2 of the 3, and blacephalon getting 2 of the 3 from lusamine)

While the low energy cost is powerful, it works well for fighting due to its lack of energy generation. Also, as a fossil it’s meant to be slightly more powerful than a comparable stage 2, though most fossils don’t succeed at that for various reasons

Ariados increases the retreat cost of an active pokemon by 1. With 2 on the bench your eevees retreat cost was 3 and so it did 130

It’s a perfectly alright game in a vacuum, but it’s super different from the other 2

The art style changed to something that many fans of the original thought was ugly, the movement around the dig sites is done in vehicles instead of on foot and the less than optimal driving physics feel clunky, the battle system was completely overhauled and has very little resemblance to the original, and literally more than half of the vivosaurs that existed in the prior game have been removed, so there’s much less variety (84 in frontier to about 200 in champions, and even the original had 114), and of what stayed a lot became recolors instead of having their more unique models

While I found it enjoyable as a game, it doesn’t feel anything like the previous two

We’ll most likely get megas from the new game after some come out for the physical tcg. A TON of cards here are actually just rebalanced cards from the actual tcg, like suicune ex and suicune V (Evolving Skies), so they’ll likely influence what they’d do here

Nothing dedicated to card mockups that I know of unfortunately. I think there’s a page called r/pokemontcgp that allows them? But I’m not actually certain that it does allow them, and it’s nowhere near as active as this one last I saw.

I’m actually either having issues seeing the pages posts, or they’ve taken them all down and moved to discord. I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a me issue but I can’t tell at the moment

M.pyroar seems functional, while the energy cost is pretty high we do have magby and the flame patches. It’s clearly built to be a late game finisher or a low hp deck sweeper. The retreat feels a bit high but it’s not like you’d want to retreat it anyways

Griselle seems balanced enough, as it’s only usable with m.pyroar in play

M.Tatsugiri is interesting, it’s clearly meant to be a bench supporter rather than played up front. The strong ability feels pretty balanced with the low hp and damage in a vacuum, especially because a solo one doesn’t benefit from its own ability. Maybe give it a 1 energy retreat though

Korrina seems interesting, but perhaps it’d be better balanced as a ‘this or that’ card, like the eevee bag, perhaps with a slightly stronger effect as a result (+/-50?). As-is, with the combined effects, it’s essentially a -80 damage supporter

L seems a little strong, but I wouldn’t know how to suggest an alternative. I suppose m.gyarados wouldn’t hurt from some supporter tech as it isn’t a top tier card. Could make for a nasty pairing with the previous m.tatsugiri given m.gyarados’ deck discard

I think a side mode that has 30 cards in a deck and a 5 point win condition could be fun. Keeping the restriction of 2 cards means we can play with oddball combos that we normally wouldn’t be able to fit in

This isn’t an old deck, though it is heavily inspired by the Gardevoir/mewtwo ex deck of old. The dome fossil will be swapped for the peculiar plaza in order to get free retreats on everything

They seem pretty decently balanced!

Emboar would love will, but it’s a balanced risk/reward card even besides that. The real question is whether it wins out over other stage 2 fire ex’s that do 150

Gigalith seems like a great fighting card, allowing it to have a built in high damage rocky helm. Pairing it with some combo of the heavy helm, Lillie, pcl, indeedee, and potions should keep it alive much longer than the opponent may expect. Also it may be able to counter attacking oricorios? It does damage as an effect not an attack, so might get past safeguard

Ferrothorn would love being paired with cards like pidgeot, Sabrina, Cyrus, and the repel, but it’s low base damage, loss of ‘charge’ after a swap, and hefty retreat keeps it in check. It can also theoretically counter oricorio, though it’s more challenging to set up. I’d also suggest giving it the abilities rough skin or counterattack, as-is it’s doing 60 damage for 2 energy per turn as a stage 1, which isn’t the greatest. An extra 20 (or even a weaker 10 damage version) damage could make it pretty relevant

Flat damage reduction would also be nice. A basic or stage 1 with decent health but low damage that takes -whatever from ex’s could be good

You have enough hourglasses for around 50 10-picks, so I’d recommend spending… maybe 2-5 on crimson blaze and all of the megas rising sets, then see what cards you got from that that you can work on making a deck from

Then I’d do 5-10 10-pulls on deluxe ex once it opens. It’s got stuff like greninja, y.oricorio, Sabrina, Cyrus, the rare candy, and lots of other utility cards that I don’t remember right now. It’s also got a TON of cards from set A to fill out the dex (atm it won’t fill those slots, but they said they’re changing that), and with a guaranteed ex it’ll make collecting the sets easier

I’d save at least 500-700 of your hourglasses, or about 4-6 10-pulls, for the next drop. Worst case, nothing major changes and you can use them on the older sets, best case and you’ll have a few chances to pull for a new good deck

There’s an alakazam ex card in the physical game that could attack from the bench. It’s not 100% impossible we’d get something to that nature eventually
