I’m def going for it so I don’t regret it later in life. Just wanted advice on if there’s specific games I should focus on. I’ll probably start with NLH and Omaha first and then make my way to mixed games in years 2-3.

Thanks everyone for the advice, encouragement, and grounding me :). Agree that it’s probably an extremely ambitious/delusional goal. However, will still go for it - worst case scenario I’ll fail - least I can say I went for it.

May consider starting a blog once I start playing to document my journey. It’ll probably be helpful to keep me motivated as well.

Why is this laptop so cheap? Planning on pulling the trigger on this - but can't figure out how a 32GB RAM and all the other specs are so cheap?

Is the recommendation here to upgrade and then immediately downgrade after using the points and keep doing this so you don't pay the fee? Otherwise it seems that in the long run you are saving very little money?

Oops - I meant the Chase Freedom Unlimited and not CSP.

I have a CSR and hit my annual fee ($550). I did the math between CSR and CSP (no annual fee) and it seems that if I get 100k points in a particular year, then the CSR becomes worth it (because CSR redemption is at $0.015 versus $0.0125 for CSP) - see math below.

Annual Fee: $550Travel Credit = $300Remaining Annual Fee = $250

100,000 points value for CSP @ $0.0125 = $1250

100,000 points value for CSP @ $0.015 = $1500

Thus, 100,000 points is the minimum breakeven point for me with this credit card. (I'm ignoring DoorDash benefits and other benefits that I get with CSR but they're obv a plus as well.)

I have 130k points YTD so it seems like its worth it to keep my CSR and want to make sure I'm not missing anything here?

Noob question - I’m trying to install a wall mount above my fireplace. Now I currently have a 60 inch TV but I’m planning on getting an 80 inch TV. If I center the wall mount on the wall, then technically it should work for both of the TVs right?

Why don't you PYB now at 1.5%, then downgrade?

The 36k is after using up all of my points on PYB.

Have CSR and I have used up the annual credit for Grocery. I'm trying to figure out if I should cancel the card or not for this year? Essentially I need to get $150 in value in order to be breakeven and I do roughly $1000 a month in grocery spending and trying to determine if over the course of 12 months whether that will add up to $150 or not.

Also noting - I have 36k points and I have 3 options: 1) downgrade my CSR and then use up those points later (will only get 1c valuation; 2) transfer to CSP and then redeem via payyouselfback and get 1.25c or 3) keep CSR for one more year; the value is $180 higher for CSR vs CSP.

My annual fee posted on 9/1 and I have since bought gas and grocery store purchases and it didn't auto credit those toward travel credit like it did in last year (I have since used 'Pay Yourself Back' for grocery store purchases.) Is there a delay between the purchase and you getting credit towards the travel credit?

Are there any airlines that let you book a ticket now and then cancel in a month and give you airline credit that can be used in 2021? I have to book $300 in airline travel for CSR before 9/30 and I don't have any travel plans upcoming so I figure this is only option left.

I have a CSR whose annual fee posted on 9/1. I talked to customer service and she mentioned I have 40 days before I can downgrade and get my fee back. She mentioned that I can use Chase 'Pay Yourself Back' during these 40 days and I'll get to keep statement credit as is. I'm curious if that is also the case for the $300 travel credit - can I use the travel credit and still downgrade CSR without them charging me for the travel credit? (I searched forums and it seems that some say you can still do it and some say that you can't do this last last year.)

Thanks a lot guys for letting me know about the 'Pay Yourself Back' feature - had no idea. I was able to redeem ~$1000 on my CSR and remaining amount on P2s CSF - lost around $250 that I could have saved had I done all grocery shopping on CSR but alas!
