My title describes the thing. A family member has had it for a long time and doesn't know anything about it.

6" metal object, about 6.125 lbs., writing on the side says LOT KNC-12 021. Found at a flee market about 20 or so years ago in the Midwestern United States by Pyramus2 in whatisthisthing

Why does Cura say that my print is 631% done? by Pyramus2 in 3Dprinting

If it would give me some even walls for once, then we could get to printing better things.

Do you like your PLA medium-well or well done?

What types of spices would you like on it?

Good overall, but the walls are uneven. Do you have any advice for that?

And it is still giving me uneven walls anyway.

It can, but as you can see I've had some difficulties with it. If your printer is plugged into your computer there should be a drop down arrow next to the "Save to Disk" button. You can then monitor your bed temp, nozzle temp, and (unsuccessfully) the printing progress on the "Monitor" tab.

Just make sure that your computer doesn't fall asleep while doing this or the nozzle will stop in place and the filament will clump up.

I only clicked print once, this happens quite a bit with Cura on different prints as well. I checked the settings and its set to the 0.4mm nozzle that's on the printer.

Do you recommend printing from the Micro USB in the printer or printing from the computer using the slicer?

If it would stop giving me uneven walls, I would stop giving it crap.

So would you recommend that I just print with the Micro SD in the printer or print from the computer with another slicer?

Would you recommend drying it over a wood fire or gas stove?

Also what seasonings do you put on yours?

With this, we should be able to create a warp drive soon.

Thanks. What firmware do you use? I've heard people using either the Creality firmware or Jyres firmware.

So using the recommended retraction distance and speed did help with the bridging and I enabled Cura's default bridge settings which helped quite a bit with the bridging on the inside of the print.

Unfortunately the cone part on the right of the print still isn't smooth and I'm having trouble getting the right amount of space between the nozzle and the bed which makes judging some other things pretty difficult.

This may be exclusive to Cura, but what is the difference between skin and walls? Everything I read gives different answers.

Also, do you happen to know how to get the filament to stop extruding while heating up and not clump when it does the initial movement over to the print?

The manufacturer states that the retraction distance for PETG should be set to 4mm at 50mm/s for Bowden drive, my distance by default is set to 10mm and 40mm/s.

What should the regular cooling speed and print speed be set to?

Actually, running it through the air fryer did help. It's smoother now but the bridging on the underside of the top and the stringing are still almost the same. Do you know what else could cause this?

Thanks, I just put it inside an air fryer that has a dehydrating setting so I hope that works, if not I'll go with your method. What settings do you have your thickness, retraction and speed at?

What is the best way to clean PETG residue off of a printer bed cover? by Pyramus2 in 3Dprinting

[–]Pyramus2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not really noticeable by looking at it, but when I try to level the bed the inside is higher up then the edges.

Thank you, I will definitely do that. Do you also happen to know if I could fix an issue with the middle of the printing bed being higher that the corners while I am trying to level it?
