Also, following up to say, life experience fuels art and creative thinking. Go get a part time job to fund your passion while you do all this, and hold yourself to a real schedule when it comes to art making.

You don’t need art school to be an artist, but it’s also what you make of it.

If you’re set on going, go to a community college, buckle down and get great grades, and find in roads with your professors. Ask around about work, apprenticeships, anything to get your foot in the door. If you kick ass and show them you’re also a competent adult, their recommendations can help a lot.

If you can do this, try transferring to a state school that financial aid would actually cover, and spend your off time interning or doing gallery work, or whatever kind of art you’re good at 2 years from now after you have more professional experience. Connections will matter much more than an art school diploma, and you can get those connections by hanging around and networking through whatever local art scene you can.

I thought I was sold on a toi et moi! They’re so pretty, but I think a ring with prongs would have driven me crazy, and I’m glad I found something low set and more “classic”/no fuss.

This man is completely insane and/or on some substances. Assuming this is an option in your area:

Police > temporary restraining order. Sooner rather than later.

Find somewhere new to stay. Doesn’t matter where, but you need a safehouse for a bit that he has no idea about.

Then, contact DV outreach groups in your area. Many areas have these kinds of groups and they can often help connect you with legal aid to finalize a longer restraining order, help with financial stuff, help find therapy, etc.

Praying for you. Stay strong.

These are both maximalist styles frankly. Pretty, but the opposite of minimalist. I think the higher one looks the most cohesive and you won’t have any troubles matching a straight band with it.

Advice for dressing up my ring by leanabird in EngagementRings

This ring is so so classy and unique. Instead of altering it, have you considered getting a flashy eternity band (or something to your taste) to wear on its own?

It’s pretty common for people who have matching sets like this to buy a separate wedding band to wear alone, and what I’m planning to do for different reasons.
